Yes, strangely that's something you encounter quite a bit.

btw, what is your calling range here? AK, AQ, AJ, ... ?

AJ and up, probably. I'm a bit too concerned about him getting funky with T2 to really go lower than that.

it's a good reg who 3bets light. I'm clearly iso-raising the fishes in this hand so it's super tempting for him to fire a 3bet there. My move is still quite spewy, though. But sometimes spewy is fun.

Nothing in the chat. He was probably too busy making a note on me...

Also, it's not sooo horrible provided villain doesn't call my shove too light. Assuming he calls with JJ+,AK, that's a 3% range against which I have 28.5% equity, when he calls i still have $58 of equity in the pot, and since I'm shoving $96.6, it's a net loss of $38.6. But when he folds I earn the $28 in the pot. So for me to break even I only need to fold a 3*36.8/28 = 4.1% range.

That means if he 3bets more than 7.1% in this situation but only calls my shove with a 3% range, the shove is profitable.

I'm pretty sure the first assumption (3bet>7%) is correct. I'm not entirely positive on the second one, but i don't think it's completely irrealistic either.

In short: when in doubt, shove, it's fun... :D

Could you also add that AK is only a 60/40 and if he does call with money invested etc...or does it not make any real difference.

I love how even a move that at first looks completely spewtard can be coherently and correctly explained. As long as you have a valid reason for it you can pretty much do anything :)

Thanks belgo :)

I definitely need to do more work with pokerstove and calculating equity, fold equity so I can make mathematically correct decisions, which I'm sure im not doing at the moment.

Gotta get into the poker mindset haha!

That's included in the fact i have 28% equity vs. {JJ+, AK}. It's 40% versus AK and i'm crushed by JJ+ obviously.

Well, there are a few things to consider.

First, you need to be correct about your assumptions concerning villain's behavior. In this case, if he 3bets 10% of his range and only calls with AK,KK+ for instance, my shove is super good. If he's a nit who only 3bets AK,KK+ for value, my shove is super bad.

Secondly, while any individual move can be justified the way I did above, you can't do it all the time because then villain would adjust. The trick is really to do this with the right frequency.

And finally, when in doubt, it's rare that you make really big mistakes by being aggressive. In this case, I may be a little wrong about villain's ranges, but i'm not super wrong, and i doubt i'm losing more than $10 EV wise if I lose anything at all (Obviously I can lose $100 on this particular hand, but that's irrelevant, what matters is my EV vs. his range). And then it's really good for my image anyway so even that small loss would help me get action on my monsters later on.

I heart donks!

I had been playing pretty TAG here, so not sure what his thought process was. Why he would call the 4bet and shove the flop with 64o is beyond me, but bless his heart. Still sweated the suckout though when that low board came.

I'm not sure if there's an easier way, but here's how I do it -

1. Press "Prt Scrn" button (copies your monitor display to the clipboard).
2. Open MS Paint.
3. Edit Paste.
4. Select area of image you'd like to keep
5. Select "Image/Crop" from menu.
6. Save as jpg file - if it's not a jpg, it may end up too big.
7. upload

If he's been tight and folding alot, why do we overbet shove the turn?

Tight & folding a lot preflop doesn't necessarily mean he is tight & folds a lot in situations after the flop.

Being he called such a large raise from me pre (8x the BB), I figured he had @ least an ace. He then proceeded to c/c my pot size bet on the flop & I instantly put him on a draw, something in the range of Ax - AQ of clubs. I exclude AK from this range being I've played w/ him a few times & know he raises w/ AK (even being OOP).

I only had $1.70 left on the turn so instead of betting something around pot & only having $.70-$.90 left behind, I just decided to save myself a bet & get it all-in on the turn. If he's gonna chase a big draw, he's going to have to pay the rest of my stack in order to see that river.

He would've called a close to potsize bet anyways on the turn if I decided to make 1. If I proceed to make a potsize bet & he doesn't hit, he folds on my river bet & then I won't get payed off the rest of the way & that $.70-$.90 would be sad & alone all by itself lol.

Tks for the support guys!

I just realized that I'm going to lose my supernova status at PS in March unless I move up to 50plo before I planned on it, I'm not putting in anywhere near the volume I was doing with NLHE.

I'm bummed, the VIP bonuses at platinum don't quite cut it compared to rb I don't think...
