Not played much poker lately b/c apart from running sooo bad, my laptops backlight inverter thingy (at least thats what i've summarised from google searches) has either a loose connection or it needs changed

I like how my computer expertise has gone through a devolution of sorts though, built my own computer when i was 11 and at 25 the first thing i thought was to give my laptop to a repair shop, rather than google and discover that it's a relatively easy thing to fix/change and will cost about £12 for me to fix myself lol, the computer shop near me charges you £10 to just look at your computer

People said the same thing about HUDs and realtime statmining in general as it first became prevalent. Of course those players were mainly skilled single table (and often live) players who saw the new game as so different than the one they played they felt the rug had been pulled out from under them.

Where do we stop? More technological edge is more edge... right? PTR isn't selling contraband, they are selling something already available, but in a packaged form.

I am playing 'devil's advocate' a little as I see shared databases as not only ba for the game, but actually as CHEATING. Huds I see as just bad for the game

RE: PTR, yeah it's way too much information. But at the end of the day, it's only information that most of us have anyways. Or at least there are several other sites that sell HH's etc.

Most of the poker population will never come across PTR, so I don't see it as that big of a deal. I mean look at how many ppl come to this site, and prolly never read any of the stuff that important to them and will improve there game. They will play freerolls for the rest of their lives. Sorry if that offends some of the readers here, but it's an accurate statment imo.

I would pretty much rather be beaten within an inch of my life with lead pipes than play freerolls.

Now taking away freeroll winner's pennies at the cash tables.. this might be my humble fate..

This is spot on, the fact is that the majority of players online are happy to plod along playing freerolls or depositing over and over again, losing their money and not trying to improve. When i was playing SnG's and MTT's i got fed up of trying to explain M to people when i was trying (and failing) to make them understand that instead of making a 3bb raise when it was folded to them on the CO they were better off just pushing with their KJ or w/e b/c they were raising over half their stack anyways. The most likely guys to use PTR or w/e will be the tough reg's that you have thousands of hands on and should be trying to avoid anyways imo

**** this shizzle im buying a security token/pin whatever it is to protect my BR. People being hacked too much for my liking but better to be safe than sorry IMO. Probs cost me £35 to get an anti virus upgrade, 6k fpps for security token so looks like money well spent to protect my roll

I agree with the first part, not the second part. The worst part about PTR imo is that the fish who just play for fun can look and see they actually lose really fast and not only that but friends can ask for screen name and look it up and then tell them they lose and they'll get embarrassed and either stop or try to improve. Also for HU it's terrible to be able to tell if someone is a loser or a winner just by looking online. I don't play much HU but I've heard it has hurt the HU games a lot.
