I agree that playing for the sake of making money is many times more difficult, you can be successful in another business and allow yourself small forays into the game, or even better go to the offline series. Over these 7 years, I have nothing to be proud of in poker achievements, I mainly played cash nl2, nl5, and inexpensive tournaments, now I rethought my thinking and realized that you need to pump mentally, it is very difficult to keep concentration on a good game, it is much easier to write about moving and bad beats

weird where does this information about me come from that the player is the loser of the freeroll? You said it yourself, poker isn't for everyone. However, if you enjoy the game and really have fun when you're playing, who cares about the money? Play micro stakes and just enjoy yourself; it's all about the mindset: are you playing to have fun because you enjoy it? Or are you playing to make money and therefore a lot more serious and results-oriented? I think a paradigm shift could be what you need and when you're really enjoying something, you absorb knowledge like a sponge. Best of luck mate

By the way, correctly noted, I remember when the only time I took first place in a $ 1000 tournament, I did not play all-in. Even senior pairs and Junior streets were dropped if there was suspicion of senior streets. I remember I was distracted from the game. I think that's the whole point that it's hard to expect a really good hand when you see a loose player nearby in a short time increases their chips by three or even ten times. It is difficult to discard pocket aces against a flush or two pairs even though you understand that you are 90% likely to lose this hand if you have seen the same loose player knock out three alls with a mismatched A3. And when you have KK AA QQ you subconsciously already consider yourself a winner but seeing a dangerous flop for yourself you still go to the end. And I think you become a loose player yourself. For myself, I decided that I need to learn to play patiently, learn to throw off strong hands, learn to control, learn not to succumb to psychological pressure. some of these skills will also be useful in everyday life.

Very interesting! As a player who is new to the math side of the game I have wondered if there are any successful players out there who play this way. I ran across someone asking the question "If someone is bad at math can they still be successful in poker?" a while back and it got me to thinking.

A lot of poker math is fairly basic but necessary.
I'd be interested to know what 'mistakes' the member you quoted was referring to when he was talking about his friend who plays poker. (a good number of 'mistakes' are also math based)
