I'd get the dc coach just for the added benefit before you play that big live tourney. But yeah what chuck said.

Doubled my br today. Ran super hot at 10nl, +7 buy ins in 2k hands. Then got caught up in the $22 180 so didn't do the 4k hands. Completely card dead on the ft finished in 6th for $140 and $22 in rakeback. Pretty sick that both me and monoxide final tabled it but a shame neither one of us ever got a hand on ft.

I think i'll wait till I hit $600 at least to move up to 25nl. Thing is I'm sort of trying to bring my AF down at 10nl but it's just not working. It consistently stays at 5 which is so super huge. I try to bring it down but I don't know why it's so big. The way I feel I'm playing is just betting my made hands I want value on. Maybe I should cbet less missed flops and try to completely eliminate bluffing.

Doubled your bankroll and thinking of changing? Say whaaaa?:p Being serious though, your aggression may be so high because at 10NL you are going to be pushing your slightly marginal made hands like top pair much stronger as players are bad and call with worse. Plus you can c-bet most of the flops you will see and nobody will adjust. I am no expert but is an AF of 5 at 10NL really something to fix?

Got a tiny taste of the swings at 6-max today and enjoyed it. Was happy that I didn't run great at the start and managed to not bother about it and concentrate on the current hand. Managed to get a small profit.

I seriously cannot run good in a tournament. Finally get a decent-sized stack (all preflop stuff, no showdowns), then 10% gets in preflop QQ vs. 47s that limp-called UTG, half effective stacks go in on flop when he flops a gutshot, then obviously felts after he hits his gutter. So ****ing annoying I seriously don't know whether I'm just running super-bad or whether I have some massive leaks but I'm playing against people who make so many god-awful plays and I can never win. I'm actually moneying about as often as should be expected, but every time I money I get knocked out either barely into the money or only like 2-3x buy-in. Considering getting an hour or two with like a DC mtt coach to go over the hands I have and talk about mtt strategy. Even if I don't mave big leaks it could still be +ev. Meh w/e donkaments just tilt me so hard. In a cash game I'd be drooling right now with 200 BBs deep with position on the idiot unless he hit and ran me lol.

well an MTT coach couldn't hurt...

but as far as "running super-bad" uh, lol zach, according to OPR you've played fewer than 50 tournaments this year between PS and FTP, including CC buy-ins. i mean, you're a smart guy so i shouldn't have to tell you that what you're saying is kinda ridiculous. MTT variance is the absolute most crazy thing beyond what any of us can likely comprehend and you're talking about 50 tourneys. 100 buy-in downswings are super standard for MTT pros, 200 downswings come with the territory as well. this of course also leads to the conclusion that there's no real reason to think you're leaking based off such a sample size

yeah you always get screwed on the most important all-ins, because generally that will be the case of whichever all-in ends your tournament. if it's tilting you that much, dabbling in tournaments in a way where it can take years upon years to catch up with variance seems kinda -life EV. this is exactly why i dislike and rarely play MTTs

wow maybe I need to work on tone. I'm not that pissed, just kinda annoyed. Not really tilting that much, just annoying how much equity in each flip is in mtts and how I've been on the wrong end literally on 100% of important flips (although due to sample size that's been like 5). I realize overall I'm running good and that I shouldn't play poker if I can't handle negative variance and that happen especially in tourney poker. Not pissed, not even that upset, just minor vent, sorry if I'm not allowed to do that.

obv you're allowed zach, just seemed a bit silly coming from a player of your caliber with your understanding of statistics. 50 tourneys is just absolutely nothing

Why didn't you bet the river there? I assume he is WAY beyond bad enough to call with worse than the straight/flush.

yeah i know that now. didn't know he was that bad then and just felt like he was drawing and i was beat. i would definitely bet it knowing what i know about him now though.

this was like the 2nd hand he was at the table and I will sometimes opt for a cheaper showdown when I know nothing about a player and a large % of his range crushes me (flush and straight both came in)

Been a very long and very wild session today..

Was down 6 BI's at one point and have come back to post a 4 BI profit.

And I cleared a bonus

And I hit platinum star.

And I was able to sustain 15 tables for an extended period of time profitably and comfortably (took some doing)

/$1250 month counting bonuses atm... smashing personal records
//and i feel it could have been a $1500-$1600 month easy too if I'd played better
///in a good mood right now
////not even thinly veiled brag

Is checking the turn ok?
I figured villain would bet his whole range there since he was rather aggro and there are not to many draws to worry about(i dont believe in back door flush draws :D) and im pretty sure he is folding all his overcards,44-88 if double barrel.
Oh and i love sucking out with 4% equity :).

Yeah I know at 10nl it might not be so bad. But I've had enough hands at 25nl to know my Af stays 5 there too. And on 25nl it doesn't work. So I'm trying to fix it while still at 10nl.

no, the tiny spike in the middle didn't feel like an upswing, so as far as i'm concerned, it was flat, which makes it a U. :)

I can't think of something witty to respond this early in the morning.
