As others have said in this thread you should try to find the format you most enjoy playing, for me it's sng and tournaments but you may like the other formats, it's up to you.

SnGs is better for me. And so, of course, it is individual.

Hello, Awaterfall13! By my opinion is most profitable, that to build bankroll in Poker
more quickly and most painless these are SnG tournaments and MTT tournaments with
turbo stucture, because in these tournaments less players and these tournaments going
not very longly: this means longer saves your concentration in during game, and can more
quickly reach the final table, where are basic prize money... And in the same time, if you
fly out from these tournaments, you lose only one buy-in, and not the all bankroll, if you
play in the different cash games for example, what happens often with the new players...
P.S. But this is only my private opinion.:)

Hi Awarefall,

its funny that you mention this because this morning i just started writing down the results from each session I have had no matter the form. (MTT, SNG,CASH,OMAHA,etc)
I write down the amount of time I have spent at each session and what the net result is. so it gives me the answer you are looking for. For example if i Played in a cash game and won $180 in 90 minutes, I make a note of this.
Then the next time I played in a cash game for 90 minutes. and won $10. That means I have been playing cash for 3 hours and I am winning about $33 per hour.

Do this with all the forms you play and you will soon find out what is most profitable for you.
Good luck out there.

in the long term the most profitable format is MTT. on the other hand to assemble a banckroll quickly. you have to take risks on the cash games or espresso formats which are harder to manage because of the variance. personally I have always been successful on MTT. that's why this is my preferred format.

If you are good player you can be profitable in any variant. You just have to choose which format you like the most. It's important that you like to play it and you have fun.

I prefer cash because the money I earn there, I end up losing in tournaments due to variance.

Deep stack

Good afternoon everyone.
In my opinion it is the mtt with an increase in blinds over 10 min, in tournaments in this style, I have better results.
Note that the more expensive the tournament is, the longer it takes for the blinds to rise.
I am reviewing the final table of a Mtt 6max, worth $ 5,200, which has an increase in blinds in 30 minutes. That mtt is perfect increase in 30 minutes, the player with more patience, more technical, with a better reading takes great advantage, it is not by chance that at the final table he had wizowizo and botteonpoker.

It is a matter of identification: which one do you feel better playing with and which one do you feel better with. I like the MTT format.

hello I think that to start banckroll from 0 you will have to play free tournaments.
already with some banking you could try to play cash NL2 you will need at least $ 100 (50 boxes).
I personally like MTTS but I agree with those who say that there is more variance than cash.
In the end it will depend on you. good luck and break the boards, GG

I prefer tournaments just because it's more fun. So far, I've been sticking onlye to freerolls as I'm building up my bankroll.

Depends on a few factors. You should consider bankroll management....how much do you want to invest to start with. This will determine what stakes you should be playing. Depends on how much time you have to invest. Cash games you can stop whenever you want or need to. SNG's can be fairly short depending on the amount of players involved to begin. MTT's need a very long time investment as you want to be available and able to play if and when you reach Final Table play. All can be profitable if you have the time to invest and you have the skills to profit in the in the long run.

Cash games have less variance than MTTs and are more flexible and elastic. You can sit-out anytime you want. One thing is true though I think it is important to get an expert on one format before jumping to another. Otherwise one can become 'jack of ALL trades, master of NONE'.
