Best movies and books about poker?
For example, I love "Rounders" with Matt Damon.

But now I need something new. So, will you help me?)

In the films about poker there is not enough poker. Otherwise, they would not be interesting to ordinary viewers.

If you watch Rounders you can see excellent advises from heroes. This cinema helps me understand philosophy of winning poker and give me motivation)

I agree! Loved that movie.

Check out Bond's poker face. It changes throughout the video. Have to watch through to the end.

Motivation comes in different forms in different people. Not sure what you are looking for. I enjoyed this 3 series book, Winning Poker Tournaments One Hand at a Time. Are you looking to get better, is that the motivation?

I love reading poker books. Read Harrington or for a wild ride Gus Hansen's book hand by hand on winning the Aussie millions. I think it is a lot of fun :)

First Post

Gotta make the first one somewhere so here is as good as anywhere. Been freerolling to start stakes for years off and on. Took a couple checks but definitely not in danger of going pro anytime soon. I'm handicapped and don't really live near a poker room so online is about it. I miss the old poker.com 5000 player freerolls. I won a few of those built a stake and they cut me my first check. Then I burned out and didn't return for several years, this time to Full Flush. I actually was able to deposit there until WU got nosey but I always took more than I sent. Now freerolls have become advertising and Cardschat seems to have the most were I like to play but I need 25 posts. Hopefully, this is good enough for #1. I don't piss and moan about every bad beat, Don't think everyone else is a "donk" and don't profess great statistical knowledge. I play for the love of poker in all forms.

-The Cincinatti Kid - definitely the best! Steve McQueen and Edward Robinson are terrific.
-Rounders- the second best.
-High Roller: The Stu Ungar Story
-Lucky You- I like this movie a lot.
-Maverick with Mel Gibson
-Deal - not so much good

it's hard to find motivation for playing in films, motivation should be sought in yourself! in his desire to win!

Also as an interest, I advise you to watch a short film about poker "Shark Out of Water". But it is unlikely that this film motivates you, rather the opposite.
