Great day.

Discovered I had just under $2 on P*, so built enough to enter a MTT as I didn't really see much point paying attention to BRM with $2. Cashed the tourney for just over $10, and have won and finished 2nd in another couple of sng's to boost my bankroll up to $25 which now means I can start to properly pay again. I know this is laughable for most people, but after the recent downswing its a nice step in the right direction.

dont really like this. Even though you have like no chips, the sb raised pretty big so i doubt is folding like ever. So unless he has been opening enough that you are raising for value, id wait and ship it in somewhere else

Wow...... I'm such a donkey! Make a HUGE mistake and was being way to cocky last night! So I was playing some small stakes ring games.... Lost two buy-ins and should have stopped there ( I just wasn't feeling it)... Now keep in mind that I've been sticking to a strick BRM and have been in the profit every session for the last few months..... Well after my 2 buy in drop I decide to put all my money on a HU table.... 10 minutes in I doubled up, another few hands and I'm up another half a buy-in! at a .25/.50 table.... since I didn't do it earlier NOW was the time I should have left the table and shut my laptop down.... instead I though I could keep taking this guys money since he was a VERY loose calling station..... A about 20 minutes later I spewed some money and we were dead even.... two hands later I was broke!

Now I'm building back up from scratch... I've done it before, I'm going to do it again... This time I'm sticking to my BRM plan and adding another threshold.... If I lose 1 buy-in I'm stopping, if I win one buy-in I'm stopping!..... It's going to take a while to make money with this method, but I need to learn to stop while I'm ahead and to stop when I'm losing!

For now I'm going back to MW2 to take my mind off things!

trying to clear bonus at FT, so played 4 10nl tables for an hour, then dropped down to 4 2nl for the second hour. I don't normally play ring but did ok, ended up.
Decided to have a shot at 25nl, so did one table of that, played 37 hands(lol) key hands were JJ against a shortstack with A2os , and 55 against same shortstack's AQ, both hands held for me, for a nice profit of $12.55 total. Didnt feel scared at the table, which is unusual considering I have never played 25nl.

KD or anyone else if you know. How long do you reckon it would take to clear the $600 first deposit bonus on FT at 10nl. In number of hands or hours for 4 tables?

LC, I earnt 40 ftps in one hour playing 4x 10nl fr tables, twice now, both times in happy hour.
For each ftp you earn you recieve $0.06 of bonus, so 40 is $2.40. $600 divided by $2.40 is 250 hours, I think.
Sorry if this is worked out wrong, I don't play ring/clear bonuses usually....

Yeah the calculations are correct and thanks for the estimate on the amount of points, it seems reasonable.
It would be half that normally so it would take a long time if I didn't play happy hour. It's about 62 days if I play 4 hours every day.

Unfortunately there are no short cuts in poker (for most of us anyways). If you can afford to lose it/or the losing of it doesn't bother you much, then the odd spin up is ok. I did it once and spun $35 into $1600 in 6 weeks. But you gonna have to start to discipline yourself in this area or your gonna be posting ITT again about another blow up. BRM is probably one of the most important facets of poker.

True that, I'm thinking that i've got $300 in my account without depositing. I'd like to make a deposit to take advantage of the bonus while I play but don't want to lose out on any of it by depositing less than $600. Is there a way of depositing then withdrawing and still having a bonus to clear? E.g keeping 300-400 in my account. Plus I wouldn't be too comfortable at 25nl yet and we all know that's bad poker if we play scared. Oh and bonus abuse ftw.

Ohhh... and I agree 100%!!! I just needed to get it off my chest... and I feel much better about the situation now! I'm more frustrated at myself for breaking my BRM and doing what I did... I promised myself that I wouldn't do this and was doing so well at keeping that.....
Once the Holidays are over I'll get back to it. Until then I'm going to play some freerolls, MW2 and read read read read read..... Once I feel comfortable after the holidays I'm going to make a deposit if I haven't built up a bankroll and get things going uphill again.

As odd as it sounds Jagsti... thanks for your post... I find words of encouragement and it helps .

The extra points from happy hour don't count towards bonus clearing, but the base ones still do of course.
