Please *DON'T* teach me to lose to quads AIPF with Aces. I was thinking today how lame it was that during my 2 sessions I had AA 4 times and KK 1 time and each one of those times I only came away with blinds. I am reminded to stay humble!

I suck

Played some HU and sucked. So tried some FR and was doing ok until set > top 2 and top set > middle set and A8>KK, but luckily it was only 50nl (coz i can't remember how to play FR) and i still broke even because the quality of play at 50nl is just that amazing. So then played a few hands of 100nl 6 max as well and also sucked. After playing some HU FR/6m seems so incredibly bizzare and hard to control at least with the way i set things up. FR is definitely out of the question from now on because 12 tabling FR on my tiny laptop is next to impossible. On another note, it is quite wonderful how little self control i have seeing as i was meant to be studying not playing poker.

Quite suprised i didn't end up today like $800 down.

I needs some help btw, as some may know i suffer majorly bad from tilt and even though in real life im ridiculously laid back without a care, when it comes to running bad i get really riled up and always end up losing a ton of money. So if anyone has any books/articles/general suggestions to help me i would appreciate

Stop looking at your BR/graph every 10 minutes certainly helped me, but you might not do that. I actually couldn't even tell you what my BR is now i check it so rarely.

The Poker Mind Set is a good book that may help you.

I'm also learning to control tilt. And what I've done is just kept a book close by and when I get a bad beat (or make a bad decision) I stop and read it for 30 minutes. I leave the table that I'm on when I get the b/b and just stop playing.

I've also learned to control my anger by trying to remember when I gave out the b/b. It happens and there's not much you can do about it after the fact. And after seeing how much a b/b can really cost me, if I keep playing, I just made myself quit doing that. And now my b/r has a lot of extra protection that it didn't have before.

Edit: Also, don't go looking for the player that dealt the b/b to you when you return to playing. This just leads to spewing more chips on bad decisions. Find another table and start new.

To get over tilt here's what I do:

1. STOP PLAYING
2. Flame up some thread I create in the BBV section of CardsChat.
3. Recognize why I went on tilt. What tipped me over the edge?
4. Review my hand histories
5. Watch some poker videos, read articles, or just play some video games
6. Get a good night sleep, come back refreshed and in a good mental state the next day.

Honestly? Playing less or taking a break usually helps me. I feel excited when I finally sit down to play again. If I get frustrated, shut the computer down, or leave the felt, go hang out with friends, laugh and get drunk. Probably why I log a lot less hands, but it helps me focus better when I do play again.

I tried playing this once and I think I hit more tilt on that game than I did the poker!
