I bet blank turns very often with the intention of checking back the river UI. But I try to check villain's turn c/r% before I do that.

if you bet turn and check back river, it means you're not really trying to fold better pairs, but just to fold the hands with overcards that still have some equity? am i right?

Yup. I don't get folds from better pairs very often in my experience, so trying to bluff them out seems spewy.

yeah, people are such calling stations at 6max. At FR I have the feeling the issue would be whether we fire a second barrel at river to get JJ to fold or if we are too afraid of having villain show up with KQ...

It doesn't happen often, but it does happen that I bluff in a 6-max game and get looked up by worse. Like I'm shoving river with 2-2, other guy tanks and looks me up with AK unimproved.

True. I'm just so used to FR that whenever i play some 6max, i need to constantly remind myself to bluff less and value bet more thinly. If i remind myself that every 5 seconds, i play decent 6max. Otherwise i spew horribly.

And THAT is where the game becomes extremely dangerous, or a lot more profitable depending on the player wouldn't you say?

I keep meaning to try an extended stint of FR though I almost always miss 6max too much to stick with it. I suppose this is because I am so loose. But it does seem that 6max has slightly more shades of grey than FR which, played well, has a bit more black and white.

I also wonder if my preference for 6max might have something to do with my love of post flop play. I feel like FR is so much about pre flop in comparison.

Would you bigdog players comment on that assumption?

I would actually say the opposite. 6max tends to get more aggro preflop so you end up playing with lower SPRs on the flop.

But that may only start to be true at small stakes, while at micros so many people try to see the flop, that any raise becomes huge preflop.

It is good advice. But you know well on the internet sometimes tone is hard to read, and with recent tension it is sometimes easy to infer what isn't implied. Not to mention the fact that people DO tend to get passive aggressive at times and say things in a non direct way.

I am all for direct communication though.
