Is playing Stoned good for your game

Maybe help to counter tilt but generally I would have though you lose concentration and focus and stoner focus is no good for poker!

To answer the OP question- Yes.
Imperative.
If you think smoking clouds or slows or anything.... You're not smoking enough, the problem there is your tolerance.
I would recommend a nice Sativa strain for 4 tables or more. But that's me.
I've heard of dudes who do fine with 8 tables or more smokin Indica.
I've also heard of Yoda.

For me it's not good, but it makes me have a lot more fun when I play recreational cash tables with friends. (Low Stacks)
(We all smoke and the truth is that we had a great time always)

I think it probably mellows one out too much (or worse makes one so paranoid they can't focus on the game) and can make worse decisions at the table. Not sure, I've had a few players at tables with me at the casino who are clearly blazed up and they all seemed to leave down for the session by a few buy ins.

As for alcohol, generally recommend not drinking while playing although I find a beer or two during play (esp live) helps calm a bit and as a bonus gives the impression to other players that you can't be that serious about the game if you're having some drinks on a Saturday night in the casino!

being stoned affects your mental judgement, and makes it cloudy, not sure why anyone would think that it could help them

In the past, I found that having a single alcoholic drink calms me down. Otherwise, I seem to start off a little nervous/jittery. Granted, this does seem to go away after I play a few hands and get myself settled in. I haven't had a drink before playing in a long time, though.

"not sure" is just another way of saying I Don't Know. and that's fine. As to the "why"

You should try and experiment at low stakes or freerolls with different types of weed to see if you can find a specific strain that helps you. Maybe you can ask the friendly staff at the local dispensary for recommendations.

I've got to say that is a fantastic Idea!!! I'm wondering also if there are any Uni-students that could use an opportunity like this to base a doctorate degree on the subject and use the data towards a dissertation... Haha Wow I think I might consider it my self if I can count on you guys doing the practical research for me lol

Why? What's the purpose? Not...what's the point of being high. But what advantage are you looking to gain by smoking when playing?

Do you have anxiety? Would smoking calm your nerves? Do you feel you think more clearly when high? Or able to analyze situations better? If the answers lead to improving your game or your perception of playing then I would say try it and find out?

But the flip side is then feeling like you're dependent on smoking to play well. And that doesnt seem like a healthy choice.

I'm sure theres a lot of arguments that can be made for both sides of the fence. It's your life and your choice. Make good choices.

Study high...take the test high....get high scores! If you see Ivory you should probably stop though. Haha.

I have posted on this a few times, I play much better when I burn. I have severe anxiety and ADHD and it helps me a lot. I am beyond the getting baked days, I only take a hit or 2 here and there to keep me focused. On the rare occasion I have a few friends over, we get BAKED. But that is not often at all. I think it can help very much if you know your limit. 1 hit more could be to much.

I've Used Propanolol For My Anxiety... Its a Beta-Blocker but i Understand ADHD is sometimes treated with Benzedrine is that True and where can i get it from if Doctor wont prescribe it in the UK? Shhhh Really I'm Interesting in Smoking Too but MIXING Uppers and depressants is that ok?

I take Buspirone for my anxiety, It really does not really help in my opinion. And I have tried a couple for the ADHD, Not currently on one until i find and effective one. I do not know what the Dr has planned. Start oot with a hit at a time and see how you feel. Go from there. Im not sure what you can get for herb over your way but play it safe and start small if you want it to possibly help you. Im not saying it is a cure all,but i do think it is a wonder drug. Has more uses than any other drug/medication i can think of. Hope all goes well

Everyone will have a different experience regarding that so why not try it out and see what happens? Some lower stakes to avoid potential losses if it turns out to have a negative effect

i would argue it would depend on what type of player you are/want to be, and what type of weed you're smoking.

im sure the right sativa before a session can be helpful in some cases but with that said... only if it helps you control tilt/not punt off stacks...

for your average player i would argue against it but i know lots of people who only play stoned so..

Can't imagine something that alters the train of thought being good for poker. I don't get high, so this is an uninformed opinion. Playing while drinking alcohol is something certainly I wouldn't consider. I'll have to include being stone with the same straight mindset.

If people think or feel they play better, then by all means, smoke them if you got them.

Played in a live tourney about 100 players, top 3 got $2500 buy in for final tourney. I was the only one drinking. And they topped it up before I barely finished one. One guy asked me how I can drink and I said I play better. I finished in the top 3. Everyone was shocked. Not sure how many I drank but it was alot. As for stoned, haven't tried it yet. Hmmm maybe today? LOL. Find me at the tables...hahaahaa.
