Without a doubt, poker is a great game. But when it comes to making money, I think there are faster and more efficient ways, for example, to find a real job. :)

You have to be in that small percentage of players that are making a living from online poker

In the game on poker rooms I won quite nice sums several times, but this did not happen often and I often remained dissatisfied, just over and over again I was thrown out by the random number generator. I think in a live tournament I would not be too worried about the idea of a suspicious program that gives out unrealistic combinations of random numbers on the poker rooms. But unfortunately there are no real casinos in my country:)

Never played live for money but i think live is better. when you play live you can watch your opponents, see his reaction. It's kind of influence you can't get on online poker and in my opinion online poker favors some players and disfavors some other players. Online poker is not fair.

I agree with the vast majority of the previous posters here. Man tournament poker is brutal , if you are good enough and consistent in volume and you are able to take some shots within your bankroll then you may be in profit.
Maybe you can bink a big tournament etc but IMO make serious money in tournament poker in a fast way I would consider it as super difficult.

It's a long term grind for sure.

yes, There are few professions that can enrich you quickly

Good afternoon everyone, in my opinion it is an excellent way to earn money, as every profession requires dedication and discipline.
I admit that I should study more, but I'm already making small profits from poker, I'm earning more than when I was working in sales.

Apparently it all depends on you, on your goals, and the desire to achieve them. Undoubtedly, poker can be a source of income, but it requires hard work for many years. Skill comes with experience only.

Its difficult to make money in poker. Most of the times you will generate more rake for poker sites than profit for yourself.
Over the years, Win rate per 100 hands has come down significantly. But if one enjoys playing cards, then one can make money.

You can earn in both cases, the main thing is that luck is always with you.

Poker is not the best way to make money, it's better to go to the office to water cacti. But everywhere you can succeed if you make an effort, a lot of effort:)

Good way, but parallel a hard way too. To reach the level that you make money from poker is very long, and need a lot of time too. But if you love this game this way can be enjoyable.

Poker # Moneymaker

You can't rely only on poker to make a life, poker is hard, the win percentage is low even for professional poker players...

Hi.
I believe that in poker, as in life, in order to have a stable income, you need to study a lot and gain work experience, and in poker you will not be able to just sit down and win

I second that, you must be aware of this. Poker is a great game to play, but to make a career out of it is a challenging matter.

Probably if you are young it would be much better to focus mainly on education and career or building a profitable business. Later in life when you have money in the bank then learn how to sell things for more than you paid for them (eg stocks, real estate).

Poker can be very profitable however also very risky, I wouldn't rely only on poker, specially for beginners. As mentioned above, studying and experience will help a lot but still will not gaurentee wins.

It's not. You can win if you take it seriously and dedicate a lot of your time to it but still it's not the best option to make money.

Playing online and live poker is good for making money, but it's also a way to lose money if the player doesn't know how to play against opponents by taking chips from them.

I think it's a good way to make money. Both live and online. Online you normally get larger pools so the payouts can be greater.
