Today I have my doubts.

Yes, but it's along the lines of becoming a professional actor or athlete. The odds are stacked against you, and the perception of being a professional is more glamorous than the actual lifestyle!

My belief is that remaining am amateur is more fun, and potentially more rewarding (Why not have a FT job for the GTD paycheck and play poker for your extra money).

I read a great book titled, "Flow" by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, which argues that remaining an amateur is ideal in ALL FIELDS! Amateurs are the ones with the most vitality and are the ones who make the big discoveries. For poker, amateurs have more fun than professionals and I'm in this for fun (the paradox is that the money will come with this type of mindset!)

:)

not only on pokerstar, there are other Apps that can have a good financial return, and the more platform you have, the more knowledge you receive.

Hello everyone:)
I think that it is not as easy as it seems, but it can only be done if you have enough experience, skill and mastery to face players of different levels, and this requires a lot of money, effort and continuity.
I think that you must first learn and master poker at the lowest possible cost and if you are lucky and win some money, try to play with a high buy-in to see what is the strength and toughness of players of this level.
The fact is that the level and willingness of players to win varies with the increase in the buy-in.

I have a decent job and play poker as offer as possible. I’d say once my daily earnings can average my salary or a prolonged period of time I may make the leap. This won’t be anytime soon though lol but I’d figure this would be a good method to gauge potentially

I believe so. I see a lot of professionals who only play poker tournaments. I personally only have it as a hobby. who knows, in the future, he could live in retirement playing poker.

Yes, but only if you select the winnings and losses cap for a given week or month. Of course, not to mention the fact that most tournaments you have to be in the bonus places. Your skill and practice in the game are also essential, as playing for medium or high stakes differs from that for small and freerolls.

It's too insecure for me to play online all the time. This is also because I'm not an IT specialist, so I don't have much of a clue as to what's going on and how best to protect yourself! I'd prefer live poker in the casino, but the offer in Germany (to get in before you make longer journeys) isn't very big, I think! But I've never really figured out how to do it properly!

First you need to decide how much money you need to live.
Work is everything that brings money, but the most important thing is work that will bring you pleasure.

It seems to me that in the beginning this is only possible with a basic stable income, since even with a high level of the player, you cannot completely control the random number generator that shuffles the cards in the deck.

Good luck here and at the poker tables.

Yes it is possible. However, do not build high expectations. If you consider poker as a job, then you have to spend a lot of time on it, especially at the initial stage. And it won't always work out the way you want.

Don't recomend to start building bankroll on PS or GG, due to average field size) If you have serious intetions, will be learning a lot of knowledges bout game and have a lot of time to play to - then your choice to start are room with low average field size, such as PartyPoker, 888 for example) PS and GG almost always have 1000+ people in tourneys, especially on low limits, so it will be very hard to handle it)

Hi
Of course it is possible. There are quite a few players for whom poker is the main source of income. And this means that you can make your dream come true if you are ready to work hard for it. Good luck :)

Poker is a job or a hobby, you decide. The most important thing is not to be disappointed. Have no illusions, poker is cruel, just like the world that surrounds you.
