poker is a place to make friends and they are just opponents.

Of course making friends in poker is complicated because in any tournament you become your opponent and you always want to win

When playing poker, I'm only interested in my decisions. Friends, opponents, relatives, classmates, neighbors and everything else does not matter to me.

I'm going to go with just opponents. Crossing the line to friends may make my decisions of play change; example slow playing for a 'friend' with a low chip pile may make me lose something later if I'm trying to help them make the money. It's a tough call though because there are a few folks that are slightly more than opponents to me and almost friendly now. Interesting.

It would be nice to say that poker is a place to make friends, but I have been playing for many, many years, and have yet to become friends with anyone. But, it all depends on what your definition of a friend is.

If a friend is someone that is 500 miles away, and you see them once in a while, online, then, yes, I have friends.

If a friend is someone that you have personally known for some time, is someone you can confide in when you have problems, someone who can help you when in need, someone who can come to you for help, when in need, then, no, I have no poker friends.

There are many that I chat with, and recognize, but I would not call them friends.

In casinos I've made friends, of course at the table, they are opponents! lol But online, I've not made a single one. I don't find it a conducive environment for socializing really.

Playing live with people present clearly you can make friends and talk about all kinds of topics of interest because they are long tournaments and the human being is a sociable person and gets bored if they are just playing without seeing each other, on the other hand online is a something very different so you have the option to talk the tournaments are random and they change your table because if so it is a waste of time to talk to another person, besides that in online tournaments the atmosphere is more tense and there are many players who do not They know how to lose and if they lose they insult you, that's why in online tournaments I don't like to talk to anyone, I just say hello to the table.

'Poker is a place to make friends'...

You must be pretty naive to believe that.

I believe you can network with some clever people in the poker community have each other back. In saying that all money ain't good money. Every opportunity not meant to be seen about. As far as friends I keep my circle small and simple. Poker community too large to have friends in it too many smiles. It ain't all bad but ain't all good either. Keep it 💯 and respectful to all and you get the same back.

Good morning.I always try to be friendly and respectful with all the other players , specially in CC freerolls, but,to be honest, what I really care when playing poker is to win the more money I can.

Poker is a very competitive game, it involves even money and therefore the pokertable is not a good place to get friends.
Furthermore, it can ruin already existing friendships.

Yes, you can make friends on a pokerforum as long as you don't meet them at the table or as long as doesn't involve money. Otherwise i don't really see the possibility to get friends.

Poker is like every sport where you can make friends before the game/match start, but when it start you become opponents and sometimes it can be difficult to play against your friend.
Poker gave my a chance to meet one of my best friends. We played poker with each other and now we should do something new in our game as we know all mimic and every tactic. So if you want to improve your game play a lot with your friends.

It is possible to make friends as in any profession/sport but in the vast majority they will be colleagues to share experiences, true friendships are more difficult to find in any environment.

I think it's possible to make friends, but at the same time at a poker table your friend is your opponent, in online poker I find it harder to make friends, while in live, despite never having played, I think it's easier
