I like the game, I play it a lot, but due to job changes, I will have to leave it for a long time, I hope to find time to continue playing occasionally.

poker is not a sport where the game is played for money and randomness is crucial? there is no smell of sports here, this game is one of the varieties of card games, if you play it knowing the measures and have a strategy for the game and bankroll management, you can play zero at a distance, and some players can play plus․ Listened to an interview with Sergey Rybachenko about how he with $ 600 less than a day he made $ 300,000 and lost almost everything, there he says that during these days he became a ludoman, I think that for many poker turned from a simple hobby into an addiction that led them into difficult life situations and only for many became earnings

I absolutely disagree. According to this logic, evil is also an ordinary knife, because people are killed with it. Evil is generally a relative concept, if you gave money to someone in need, and he bought drugs with them and used them with a friend who died of an overdose, are you to blame? Even if they didn’t give it, but simply lost it, but he found them. Guilty of the one who lost? By this logic, you are doing evil! This is a matter of personal psychological perception. Also, the knife can serve as both a weapon and a cure for the attacker. Similarly, drugs can destroy life, or they can be used in medicine to save. Each person is personally responsible for their actions.

Poker can beat like a business, if you manage correctly, maintain discipline and distribute your bankroll correctly, it can make a good profit. If you keep a consistent but inadequate bankroll, you will end up in the red.

You're right it can be super bad if a person is using money they shouldn't.. if someone is using rent money to try get a little extra or food money there in trouble and already a problem. It's not the gambling it's the person's choices that are ruining themselves

I don't think poker is evil, anyone that needs help, knows how to get it.. but of course, there will always be winners & losers, so long as you enjoy it (losing but having fun) doesn't matter, I most people start off losing. unless you start from freerolls. ( its free experience ) and there's always freerolls to play for those that are bad at poker but just wish to play?

Like many members that replied, I also don't consider poker as a bad thing but I agree with your point that for some people it can be put on the same category with drugs and alcohol... That's why I give so many times advices to my friends to have a good bankroll management and also to improve their mental poker game - I mean it helps a lot to know that a few losing big pots/ sessions won't 'cripple' you and/- or to know how to react mentally to bad beats or other emotions at the tables that keep you from playing your 'A game'...

Have a great Sunday everyone!

To me, poker is a mainly a strategy game and those are popular throughout all cultures. In Jonathan Franzens latest novel there is a religious family and the kids are not allowed to play "Stratego". They end up making there own game, secretly out of old cardboard ;-)

I saw Poker beat up it's own grandmother, kick a puppy and then tear off in a stolen convertible.

Strange remark. I think it all depends on you and your desire to achieve your goals. Your addictions are just a problem of your attitude to certain things.

I would not do like this, I would play poker even further. :p It might sound funny to someone, but I would not quit the FRC games for example.
I like to play them, even if I should play buy-in games and so on.

Playing poker with the right attitude is not gambling.
I know, poker could feel like an addiction, I also had this long, long time ago, when I was a student and did not
understand the concept and anything about poker.

Just play poker with serious bankroll management and you will stop gambling and also give your families and members
always the most priority!!

Kind of a round about way of saying …. actually I have no idea. I will definitely think of this though next time I use a knife to cut into a steak or take a Tylenol for an aching muscle. :):)

I have absolutely no problems in this context. For me, poker is a hobby, fun and great entertainment. I am a disciplined and patient player, so for me poker is only positive.

Let's remove all knives from our kitchens, you could potentially harm yourself or another person.
I think that poker is an intellectual game that is good for the brain and much more interesting than watching endless series and shows on TV, or being on social networks 24/7.
It is possible to play chess for money and lose a significant amount if you have a problem with discipline.

I may be in a hurry, but apparently you don't like card games.

It could be from bad experiences in family or friends.

But for some people it is a good hobby, extra income or main income.

But if you're thinking about addicted people who lose their heritage, I agree, it's an evil game.
