Poker game to win or for hobby, what do you think?

It can be both, but you have to keep in mind, when you go to work it will be a little stressful because you will have to give everything to be able to get your "bread" out of there, and when it is just a hobby you already play more relaxed .

I play recreationally but used to be semi Pro in Vegas. I lived in Vegas for 4 years and now just play online. Poker should be fun and of you're not having fun you're not doing it right.

I love playing in Tournament's, this is one of the reasons I play a lot of free-rolls, but I never play to win money, there are easier ways to make a money.
I play for the love of the game and the thrill of being in an All-in situation,
One of the things I have learned over the years is that there is no winner in gambling except the casinos and Bookies. Yes you can win big betting on a horse race or football match but after it is done, whatever you win they always get it back and more besides.
A friend of mine won £12,000 on a £50 football bet and he lost the lot chasing bigger wins,

Gambling is a Mugs game.

If you don't make a living of poker theres no reason to lose your mind with the game... of course that if you are naturally competitive you might have difficulties trying to play just for fun. So if you play as a hobby, don't bother just enjoying the time on the table, chat with your friends and relax
If you wanna be a pro, then maybe you gotta get really tired sometimes lol

Better treat it as a hobby...

Only few players are good enough to win consistently
and even then making a decent income from poker will
be a full time job.

But although it is a hobby i play to win. As long as the losses
don't take away the fun from playing all is good...

If it's a freeroll , allright , sometimes won't care so much , rarelly if I am asleep on the bed , if I have some other things to do but playing a freeroll and making mistakes or misclicks won't b0ther me , etc . Only for freeroll .

Hobby or enjoy it or trying to have fun , if by this you mean enjoy the session (with strict brm) despite the very little profits ITM bacause of mistakes until you learn to play better , so as not to lose appettite/mood for playing poker , then yes . But burning money , especially a lot of money , either on poker or casino games/slots , is not funny or hobby at all . :banghead:

But if you are a big winner , or a whale , you can always have fun , see some games as fun games , like a hobbyist (entering the low/lowest buyin games for fun just to deliver with your 2-3 rebuys some crazy bad beats to low bankroll fish , shove J5 and get a 4 of the kind on the flop winning QQ

All depends on your skill level and how far you want to take it to improve your game. Poker can be both a hobby or played professionally. Only a very small percentage of players end up playing for the big bucks however. 99.9% of players should only play as a hobby unless they want to improve their game to the point where they are consistently beating their opponents and continuing to do so as they move up in stakes based on their bankroll.
