Sex and Poker

I don't think it should be compared to sex on its own, I think it would be better compared to a relationship as a whole.

You have your hole cards and you don't like the look of them so you fold. You have no relationship with these cards, they are done.

Perhaps you do like the look of your cards, so you raise, you put some money down on the table for these cards because you think it will work post flop.

The flop comes down, you start to build a bigger picture of what you could achieve and what is possible with your cards. You see there is a lot of potential so you call or raise, perhaps you slow play it because you don't want to ruin it, you check when you flop the full house. You don't want to give the game away. Perhaps you don't like what you see at all, the story that's being built isn't right, you don't see potential, things are likely to get worse, so you fold. Maybe you think things will be okay, you have Ace-King, it looks pretty, but with this flop it might not work, you call, hoping to hit on the turn or river. You let looks obscure character and continue to play.

On the turn, things start to get more serious, the story unravels and there becomes more possibilities. New things are revealed that weren't there before. You've got an open ended straight flush draw, things look really good, you raise and get called.

River comes down and its what you wanted to hit, you shove all in with the hope of taking the pot. Did you over estimate your hand? Or did it turn out exactly how you wanted it to. Did you beat everyone else, or did you just get roped into a waste of time and money.

P.S. I think the way you portray women as objects is wrong, only creepy desperate guys try take advantage of women, especially when they are vulnerable(short stacked) I just hope when you try shove all in against the short stack, you get called and they flip pocket aces and you get sent home because you bust your bank roll. Touché

Someone has thought about the association of sex and poker.
I've been thinking here that the two things can relate.
In poker we usually try to take advantage of our opponents, that is, to make the most money possible and even cheat them with a bluff.
In sex the situation is the same, we seek to take maximum advantage of the woman, we seek to satisfy her innocence at all costs and even deceive her with false love.
As in poker we often think that we are winning and we end up losing, so it happens in sex, when we think we are dealing well, we are dealing poorly, and even being cheated and betrayed.
One thing is certain when you lose a woman, we get upset and when we lose in poker the situation is the same.
Interesting analysis. Of interest - my wife was reading it over my shoulder. You don't want to know her thoughts on your comparisons.

I am just thinking you are going through some woman issues and thats fine but i think that poker and sex is a silly comparison. dont deceive women. Treat them and everyone with respect. Keep playing poker though cause you can deceive people there and that is fun.

I really believe the original poster of this thread has quite a few issues that could do with professional help and I don't mean from a poker pro.

The day poker becomes more important than sex, I will know I have reached total degeneracy.
As for bluffing a woman to be intimate, what planet does that happen on, we seduce them, not bluff, you won't have much fun doing that.

Discussing the pros and cons of poker and sex? Really? I think Monopoly and sex is a much more applicable comparison.

Like your posting; you gave it some thought and wrote well with humour. The original posting? Pretty silly.

We hear many things about comparison between sex and poker. But the truth is: one thing is one thing and another thing is another thing.
But sex before or after the poker is all-in. 🙂

Sometimes in poker you can get so ****ed up that no sex is needed anymore 🙂

I know a phrase that says:

Luck in the game and bad luck in love!

Or the opposite of this:

Luck in love and bad luck in the game!

I laugh a lot with this topic.

I thought this post was about having sex while playing online poker. I was curious how you'd multi-table and perform... but I guess my question still remains.

Sex and poker

I think its really a good idea to mix up two addictive game ... loll Just start playing nude , its more pleasant.

there's a saying that says if you're doing well in the game you're doing badly in love, because I just had sex, let's see how it goes on the tables today

Not to offend, but your analogy is absurd, if that is the way you treat a women stick to poker. In poker you treat all apponents with respect until they prove themselves not worthy of it. Treat a lady or gentlement the same. I need spell check here.
