Sick of poker??

poker and life, gambling is a long way, control your emotions, nothing is too surprising with small probabilities, it's like the events in our life. Get over it and continue.

Unfortunately, you can't do without draws in poker, you have to be very prepared for this, poker is always a risk.

You already want to force yourself to play poker, like going to an unloved job. Treat it as a hobby, not as a job, because only a hobby is the best and favorite job. But if you really feel sick of it, then delete the client and that's it.Try offline poker, and maybe in a month you'll want to play online again.

Knowing that at any moment I can lose a lot of money, I never play with my own money. There are freerolls for this. I play in tournaments with money from freerolls. If I lose money, I don't regret it.

In a game like poker, losing is normal, sometimes you can't just win. I play more freerolls and a few paid games within my bank. I think you have to be conscious and only play what you won't miss. And of course, study to always improve your reading and plays. The experience that comes with time makes all the difference too.

I do not think it is bad beats why most people get sick of poker including myself. It is that for well over half the time you fold and usually have not much interest in the hand which makes the game intrinsically quite boring compared to other things you could be doing that day. That is if it isn't minus 42 with the windchill outside like right now and then I wish there was more than one freeroll today!

I understand what you are talking about, I have been through this many times, although I did not lose so much, but my moral and psychological state was about the same as yours. In such situations, I always stopped playing for 2-3 months, maybe even longer, but then all the negative emotions go away, I forget everything bad and start playing again. I once talked to experts at one of the poker schools, described my situation to them, told them that I have been playing poker for 16 years, and it would seem that I know everything there is to know about poker, and nevertheless I constantly get into such situations. One of the coaches listened to me, assessed my gaming experience, and said: "What is happening to you is variance. You need to learn to overcome it, and everything will be fine." I think he is right, and the main thing in such moments is not to start tilting and learn not to lose a lot, and in those moments when negative dispersion ends and positive begins, you need to learn to win to the maximum and then there should not be such problems as you and I have.

The JJ bad beat was tough, but unfortunately it happens. I've lost count the times that I made a full house and in the end my opponent ended with quads. I get mad at the moment of course, but I've already accept that this is poker and situations like these will always happen. I just can't let this affect my game. If it's necessary, I take a break for that day and come back only when I'm feeling better.

I've been thinking do the they know the outcome of the hand can they see my hand and know they can get my entire stack. Does anyone else ever have these thoughts ?or just me

Ps in-between this I lost a 3 way allin with AA v KK and JJ for £300+ Jacks flopped a set and held

In online poker this is much more common to happen. Online players are inevitably looser. And take a good look at the hands you mentioned:
One of the villains had an AK. Many players overvalue this hand.
The other had a pair of the same suit. You didn't mention it but he probably made a flush draw on the flop. So it wasn't that strange.

Look what happened to me once:

I had 77 and bet 3BB. Everyone ran and the villain paid.
Flop: 557.
Fullhouse for me. I bet half a stack. It should be about 15BB.
The villain went all-in. I paid.
He had a 'solid' T9o
Turn: T
River: T
And he made a taller FHouse...
I even understand the deck giving him two T cards on the turn and river. What I don't understand is the guy paying my food and then going all-in without having anything. Absolutely nothing in the hands.

You need to change your thinking.
When you see that all of the money has gone in and you're miles ahead... you've made your opponent make the worst possible play, etc. etc. You should be CELEBRATING this.... regardless of the outcome of the hand.

In the past I would get very angry with the DONKEYS who would play like garbage and then hit their miracle cards and knock me out of the tournament (or win a big pot on cash table). And I thought that I didn't mind it so much when I got coolered or when I got it in bad and lost but I could not get past 'those lucky donks!!!'.

BUT, this ^ thinking is the very opposite of how I need to be thinking. I should be quietly rejoicing that there are huge donks on the tables and that they have made the worst play possible vs. me.
Take it one step further and I am feeling good about them winning the hand (if DONKS didn't win hands this way, they would quit playing poker. This is the great thing about poker... bad players actually think it's mostly about catching good cards & getting lucky. It's good for poker when they win. It's great for poker when they do well in a tournament and even better if they go on a run of good results in tournaments, often resulting in them believing they are much better at the game then they actually are.

And if I can't wrap my head around this stuff and I am still ANGRY with those eff'n donks then picture that donk on your table is the old lady who lives down the street (or down the hallway) who really enjoys playing her online poker while sipping on a cup of tea. I mean how can you possible get upset with a nice old lady winning a hand of poker?????

I haven't played in many months but I don't miss it.

sometimes you have to be sick, just deal with it and move on

Sometimes we need to relax our minds without playing games, otherwise we get stressed from playing and our minds get tired.
