Are those cold tourney ones outside in the winter time? Think I quit those about 40 years ago. People were stashing cards in the hand warmers and smoking like chimney! Did you mean cold turkey? Those outdoor Thanksgiving tournaments with turkey sandwich and leftover cranberry sauce?

I don't smoke. But I understand that it helps many people to be distracted to calm their nerves. Although in general this is a minus for health. That's why I don't think it's a good way to win poker. I advise you to use other tricks, for example, to be distracted by watching a movie. This will help calm down. Although I realize that it is difficult to get rid of this habit without the help of a specialist in a special clinic.

It's a good thing that here in Brazil smoking is prohibited at poker tables,there are breakers or the player is absent while he is smoking I think it's more than right because no one deserves smokers at the tables.

I quit smoking (after 45 years of smoking) 16 years ago. The method you are using is exactly the way I quit. Timing how long in between cigarettes. Just keep slowing down and before you know it you shouldn't need to smoke at all.

From what I've read and have discussed with my doctor, vaping could be very dangerous. I had a friend who started vaping and now realize I should have told him about what the doctor said.

Anyway good luck, one day at a time.

I think this is a bad thing, both for you and for other people. It will be bad for your health, but no one can condemn you for doing this, as long as it is not in a closed place and close to other people who do not smoke, because this is impolite.

During breaks, I can go out for a smoke. If IQOS, I smoke while playing. But it's better not to smoke.

I was refering to online poker, in the privacy of my own home. I would not smoke in any indoor space if non smokers are present of course. Besides, laws here prevent smoking in any public indoor space. It is a vice, a bad habit yes but what bothers me most is how expensive it got nowadays.

Yes I do. Playing on line, I usually wait till break, as I don't smoke in the house and go out side. Live at a casino, I step away from the table or go outside in smoking areas. Bad habit but It gives me a break and sometimes time to think.

Smoking while playing poker has a number of (imaginary)benefits.Generally speaking,l think the very nature of poker may even reinforce smoking habits in some players,because smoking can fit into the game.In addition to physical dependence,l believe one of the reasons is the desire to suppress emotions.

Try smoking during the break or just 1 per hour. To maintain that just don't smoke inside the house just go outside this helps in cutting down and it helps in the wallet also.

Currently I smoke in kitchen which is separated from the whole apartment and well aired. I dont ever smoke in the house because, paradox, I hate the smell lool. I cant go outside either, I dont want all nosy neighbours looking , thats life living in an apartment building

I am not a smoker but I find this very interesting. Is it perhaps due to stress? I mean poker is also a form of stress, even if we perceive it as positive.
