I put together three good hands in a row, waited... and finally collected a monstrous result out of 99. It's hard to wait, but when it pays off, it's an incredible feeling.

I completely agree. After all, the ability to wait for your hand = the ability to keep a cool head, not to participate in random unnecessary hands and strictly adhere to your strategy.

Patience in poker is typically essential for long-term success, and it's a skill many people neglect because they want to win quickly and end up failing. Knowing how to wait for the right hand to match the cards that come out on the flop is one of the requirements for winning at poker. Poker isn't just about patience; however, without practicing this skill, winning is very difficult.

It's not just a test of patience, its also a test of character. Staying cool headed and calm serves great rewards in the end.

Nice when the cards fall for you. Yes it’s a great feeling and buzz to take down a tournament after hours of patience and waiting for he right opportunities. It happens rarely so enjoy the moment.

The road to success in poker always requires patience. It is impossible to win a tournament in just a few hands. But the problem is that if you wait too long, your opponents will inevitably steal your blinds and play more cautiously when you raise. It is important to keep your game balanced. :)

Without a doubt, many people lose their patience and end up giving up the tournament. That's why results in poker come in the long term, and those who follow the game plan will be rewarded.

Hello, when I read the first book and learned how to play, I was convinced that without patience I would not play much despite the knowledge. I noticed that in the games I am more patient, I get further in the tournament.

I think our whole life is a test of our patience. Obviously, it is difficult to be patient, but those who find the strength within themselves have a real chance of achieving their goals.

I totally agree. For me, patience is one of the hardest parts of poker. Sometimes you can sit for an hour without seeing a good hand, and it’s tempting to play something marginal. But I think staying disciplined in those moments is what really makes the difference long term.

Yeah, but that strategy doesn’t always work. Sometimes you wait forever for a good hand, and when it finally comes, it gets cracked by some garbage or even a weaker hand. Sometimes you just have to bluff to stay afloat

I can imagine how good you would have felt after waiting for long to land on a nice hand and win

You’re not rewarded for playing every hand—you’re rewarded for waiting for the right spots and making the best decisions when they come.
The hardest part isn’t the big bluffs or hero calls; it’s folding for an hour and staying focused.
Patience is what separates a winning player from someone chasing action.

That's true. But how hard it is to stick to it.

Patience and focus yes. You need to be able to switch gears when you get a decent holding, otherwise you'll get blinded down. At least in tournaments.
