Sometimes poker feels like a test of patience.

Totally agree. Poker isn’t just about the cards you get, it’s about managing your emotions, staying calm when nothing good comes your way, and waiting for the right opportunity to act. In a way, the patience you build at the table ends up teaching you a lot about decision-making in life too.

I also think that poker is a game of patience because if you get too anxious you end up playing hands that you wouldn't normally play, especially when you've been playing for several hours and are already tired, but all of that is part of it lol

That's true!
Sometimes on impulse we often lose the pot, and when we wait for the right hand, we achieve great results.
Patience always

OPatience is part of the game of poker and it is essential to have patience.

That’s a very sharp observation in many ways, poker is a test of patience.
You’re often forced to wait through stretches of unplayable hands, resist the urge to chase losses, and sit calmly while variance swings against you. The best players aren’t the ones who win every hand, but the ones who manage their emotions, wait for the right spots, and keep making good decisions even when the deck isn’t cooperating.
If you think about it, patience is what allows skill to show over time without it, tilt and impulsive moves erase your edge.

It's a mix of many factors and feelings. Patience is one of them and one of the most important...

It's a test of patience, my friend; you have to wait for the key moment to attack

In poker, you can't always play only "good hands." That will make you predictable.
But playing everything indiscriminately is also a losing proposition. The whole point of the game is balance.

Patience and resilience. Even with the best hands it's inevitable that you're still going to lose some times even if you play perfect.

To be a good poker player, one of the main fundamentals a player needs to master is patience, along with, of course, technical and mathematical knowledge. Without patience, it is practically impossible to be profitable in poker.

Patience is not just an emotional matter, it is part of the game's strategy itself. A profitable player needs to know how to wait for the best situations to enter a hand, wait for opponents to make mistakes, the right moment to bluff or extract value, and also know how to deal with variance without becoming desperate.

Many people lose not because of a lack of technique, but because of impatience. They start playing weak hands, try to recover quickly after losing, go on tilt, and completely abandon discipline.

In addition, poker requires a very strong mathematical foundation: odds, pot odds, equity, bluff frequency, range reading, and decision-making with the long term in mind. But without patience, all this technical knowledge ends up being sabotaged by impulse.

In the end, poker is not about winning a single hand, but rather about making correct decisions consistently. Many times, profit comes more from discipline repeated thousands of times than from one brilliant play.

Sometimes you wait for your hand and end up leaving the tournament. Play and don't wait.

That's exactly what it is. Those who don't lean and put up with ruined periods while keeping good decisions win in the long term. Patience + discipline > raw talent.

i agree with you.
there is so much Patience i got since play poker.

Patience > Luck

Poker doesn’t reward constant action, but rather disciplined decision-making over the long term.

I put together three good hands in a row, waited... and finally collected a monstrous result out of 99. It's hard to wait, but when it pays off, it's an incredible feeling.

Patients is the key of success in poker
patients

Theres a saying; "poker comes down to skill in the long run, the short run is just longer than most people think."

That’s one of the best feelings in poker 😄 Patience can be really difficult sometimes, especially when cards are cold for a long time, but good spots usually come eventually. And when everything finally comes together, it makes the wait worth it.

I'm on a roll, poker requires patience, winning about three hands, or something else, enough to keep waiting to get to the end,

The road to success in poker always requires patience. It is impossible to win a tournament in just a few hands. But the problem is that if you wait too long, your opponents will inevitably steal your blinds and play more cautiously when you raise. It is important to keep your game balanced. 🙂
The funniest thing is that I love poker and I'm the most impatient person alive, which actually helps me work on that. On the other hand, I get really tilted when I miss winning hands by not playing them (I've worked a lot on that). But there's also the variable: in poker, you have good streaks as well as bad ones,
just like in life.
