I put together three good hands in a row, waited... and finally collected a monstrous result out of 99. It's hard to wait, but when it pays off, it's an incredible feeling

Yeah, but that strategy doesn’t always work. Sometimes you wait forever for a good hand, and when it finally comes, it gets cracked by some garbage or even a weaker hand. Sometimes you just have to bluff to stay afloat
True, Sometimes u wait…. And the deck says not today 🥲 waiting game is 50% skill , 50% heartbreak 💔 ….

The only thing I disagree with is the term "sometimes," because patience in poker is a constant, so you could rephrase the statement: patience is always fundamental in poker.

The funniest thing is that I love poker and I'm the most impatient person alive, which actually helps me work on that. On the other hand, I get really tilted when I miss winning hands by not playing them (I've worked a lot on that). But there's also the variable: in poker, you have good streaks as well as bad ones,
just like in life.
By the way, yes, I still can't stay calm when I'm not playing the hand and there's a nuts on the board from the flop. And yes, I often lose my focus and my game plan because of that. 😕

There's no doubt that more patient players earn more money playing poker over the long term than their competitors.

yep the key is patience, but luck is on the other side if get badbeat at the river 😒

so for me, just use ur guts and feeling maybe the set is not good but u win anyway

Absolutely. Poker can feel like a patience test more than anything else, especially during long stretches where you aren't getting playable hands or when your good decisions aren't immediately rewarded. A lot of players can make the right moves for hours and still walk away losing because of variance.

I think that’s one of the biggest differences between good players and everyone else. It’s not just knowing the strategy, but being able to wait for the right spots and avoid forcing action when nothing is there. The hardest skill in poker is sometimes doing nothing and trusting that better opportunities will come.

In a way, poker teaches you to accept that you can control your decisions, but you can't control the results. That lesson applies far beyond the table.

Couldn't agree more! Patience really is the ultimate skill in poker.
The hardest part isn't folding garbage—it's resisting the urge to force action out of pure boredom when you're card dead. Staying disciplined through a long dry spell and getting fully paid off when a strong hand finally hits makes all that waiting 100% worth it. Congrats on the big result!

Oh patience, hard for me to be patient at the poker tables nowadays . I can leave the table very easily for the smallest bad luck . I have no patience for crazy hands or fixed hands .

No doubt patience is key to success. Don't nit it up and wait for Aces, but playing a solid range and being aggressive it a receipt for success in poker long term.

I agree, patience is everything in poker. I tend to play very patiently, waiting for the right hands to play and extract the most chips

Patience in poker is a virtue, but patience can also be a detriment. Some people are patient and just play top-notch hands when they hit monsters. But if they're too patient, just waiting for aces, kings, and sets, they'll never get paid because they don't play enough hands where people know that, oh, he's playing, he's got a big hand. You need to be patient, but you need to be smart.

I definitely agree with this. Poker can be a huge test of patience, especially when you’re card-dead for a long time or keep running into difficult spots. One of the hardest things is staying disciplined and not forcing action just because you feel like you need to play a hand. I think patience is one of the biggest differences between making a good decision and making an emotional one. It’s also important to accept that sometimes you can play well for hours and still walk away losing. For me, learning to stay calm and stick to my strategy has become a big part of enjoying the game. Sometimes the best move really is just to sit back, wait, and let the poker come to you.

It is test of patience. Patience is very important thing by poker, but not only. There are many other aspects of game.

Absolutely! Poker really tests our patience. Sometimes we go through several hands without playing, but knowing how to wait for the right moment can make all the difference. When the wait finally pays off, the feeling is amazing!

I think taking regular breaks during long poker sessions is very important. It helps to clear your mind, refresh your focus, and avoid emotional decisions or tilt. If I feel tired, I just close the App and rest.

I have always said that patience is the most important virtue in poker. A player who becomes desperate because they aren't winning hands will lose their chips in an instant; conversely, a player who avoids succumbing to desperation will achieve better results.
