How to you deal with the stress that comes with the swings in poker? I get so stressed out when playing poker. When i run good its awesome but it really hurts when i take a big loss. The stress really geta to me too. It gets hard to sleep and sometimes i dont eat. Does anyone have any tips for dealing with the stress that comes with poker?
I don’t understand why doing something, that brings you stress-is very unhealthy. I have never heard pros complain about the stress of downswings. They just have a different attitude to the game. You need to either change your attitude to the game, or quit this business.

This is a totally personal question. No one can completely answer it for you, but being unable to sleep or eat after losing sessions is a MAJOR red flag. It's a warning imo that poke may not be the game for you.

Experiencing some distress during and/or after playing poker is pretty normal I think, but if it's impacting your ability to take care of yourself that means you have a bit more of a problem.

I would strongly recommend anyone going through that take a LONG break from poker and see how that goes.

It's really hard not to get stressed about poker. The experience of the stress of losing a lot of money at poker or losing with a good hand when you should have won is mind-boggling. But it's good not to dwell on the past losses in poker and move on to new winning plays. This is a possible reality.

friend bad times in poker happen to all of us every day but it's normal. Don't worry, I suggest that if you have a bad bet, you take a deep breath for 10 seconds and try to play as calmly as possible, or if you don't close the game for 20 minutes, drink 2 glasses of water and go back in.
calm down happens to all of us

Meditation works well for me.

Lots of breathing exercises.

And the main thing, knowing where I went wrong or why.

For me, Poker is a way to relieve stress, when I make a wrong move, (I like to pay to see) and end up leaving the tournament, (I analyze my mistakes, anxiety or even greed, then I forget) I stop for a while, watch an episode of a series or out for a walk with the dogs, make poker an entertainment or a moment of fun, don't take poker too seriously, the last big tournament I won (2013 or 2014) was a considerable amount, since then here, only small tournaments or small values, I'm not a professional and I don't intend to

Good afteon.Sorry but maybe poker is not for if you are feeling that way., since you can´t have a comfortable session if you are not eating nor sleeping well.To make matters worseit seems you don´t have a good bankroll management. The best you can do is take a good break immediately mate ,since poker is affecting your health and could be even more serious.I hope you feel better soon, mate

I have suffered from stress, what I call post-river-stress. Hahahaha why.? why 98% I am winning on the flop and on the turn and on the river I lose. And it has also happened to me, that after that, it even gives me a headache, and I lose my appetite. But the best thing for that when you have days like this, is to stop playing for at least 4 days. go out to distract yourself in other activities, and return with a fresh head and totally renewed.

I used to get stressed a lot when I lost a hand or when I made a mistake, but nowadays as long as I'm positive in my notes I don't care much when I lose a few hands.

Cope with stress when playing poker? What for? After all, we play poker precisely in order to test the strength of our nervous system! And the more stress - the more often we come here. Like drug addicts for the next dose. It's a buzz.

poker and stress are two inseparable concepts, where poker is there and stress, it would be ideal to walk for at least an hour instead of sitting on a chair for 2-3 hours, but maybe this is an addiction that is difficult to get rid of

What works best for me is knowing how to manage my bankroll, knowing how much I can win and how much I can afford to lose, it allows me to play calmly and if there is a bad streak (there always are) I stop playing for a couple of days and come back with a positive attitude .

It's impossible to not get a worked up when you lose repeatedly and receive bad beats.... however it's more about what your doing after. You'll feel better if you can keep your mind and game on point win or lose. Don't get upset and play agressive and get away from you game.... if you lose and keep loses Luke this you can rest your head knowing you gave yourself a chance. If you don't and you lose you'll rest your head and think about how you messed up and how things mightve been different if you didn't just shove with your draw or top pair
