Poker always has it's slightly more stressful moments. However, if it's causing you enough stress to affect your sleep it may be time to take a break from poker. Then possibly play less or learn to deal with that stress properly. Learning a basic meditation practice is great for reducing stress.

cool

I really liked your tip, we really end up stressing out when we end up losing a lot more than we should, so a bankroll management is cool

This is absolutely true.

At the first moment I thought about this topic, when stress could come from outside, like from job or family. Then it for sure can affect your game.
But stress about poker in itself is really just caused by poor bankroll-management.
If you do proper bankroll-management, you will never feel stress or tilt in my opinion.

Pokerstars has turned into poker stress for me for a long time. I play spins, so we can assume how large the number of bad beats in this game is, it's much quieter in tournaments, cash is a pretty boring activity for me. Sometimes I give free rein to emotions from a terrible river, and try to immediately switch to the next hand. Don't look for justice in poker and accept it as an inevitable consequence of this game.

Depends if poker is your main income, swings can be hard on your mental health. If you say you are losing sleep and not eating right because of it you defenetly need to stop and take a moment recalculate with yourself. Ask yourself are you studying the poker format you are playing? Do you follow the right bankroll managment plan? Do you realy want to make poker your only source of income?
Maybe find some study group or some poker friend that plays same levels as you.
I think poker needs to be fun game after all, and way to secure that is to have some bankroll managment and stick to that plan, not to gamble and chaise loses. Because next win might be close and if you gamble some money before the win, you'll be just breaking even and starting again.
Take it easy and GL :five:

leave it for a while because that feeling is very bad and it can consume you, poker should not always cause you that, it is not healthy and unless that time is prolonged, your well-being should not depend on how you are doing or on playing:jd4::jd4::jd4::jd4:

Hi.
Poke for me, on the contrary, is an opportunity to relax, have fun and relieve stress. I work as a driver, and poker in the evenings helps me to distract myself from my daily routine.
Good luck.

Poker is a game and it should be fun and when the fun stops then you should stop. if it keeps you from sleeping or causing other health problems then it really is time for a proper break or to quit. But as I said before, this usually happens when you don't stick to bankroll management and a self-imposed limit can help. You can do this at most poker rooms. You can set a limit for deposits or how much you can lose in a certain period of time. If you have reached the limit then you get a forced cooling phase because you then have to wait until the time you have set yourself is over before you can play again. No one needs to be stressed out about poker and potential losses there are ways you can help yourself and reduce the stress. Of course if you make a limit you won't automatically win more because the poker stays the same but you take the stress out of losing money. But in the end you still have to stick to the BRM laws, but it could be a help with a limit

For me, the stress of the operation, when I start making many mistakes for one failure and blaming everyone around for my troubles, at this moment it is necessary to stop so as not to make it worse

While stress is unavoidable, it is in our best interests to control the amount of stress we feel and to develop both our minds and bodies in order to cope. Stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol can induce or exacerbate a variety of major health problems: including high blood pressure, depression, obesity, sleep apnea.

Anxiety can impair our cognitive abilities, causing chaos in both our professional and personal lives.
Fighting stress is a high-risk game in which we could lose a lot more than our money.

Even if you don't rely on the money you make at the poker tables to pay your bills, the volatile and inconsistent nature of short-term poker results can create a negative feedback loop, making you doubt your ability to win or develop.

I agree; I don't see how you can't have stress while playing poker. Even with AA or another good/favourite hand there's stress involved in the outcome every single hand. Unless you just fold all day but then you'll never win anything.

It's an integral part of poker. Over time, you will stop paying attention. Usually resting for a couple of days helps, absolutely no poker. I experience more stressful situations because of business.

In my case, poker does not generate stress in me, it generates anger when I think I have a good hand but another player wins with a worse hand, but as I continue playing I realized that this is part of the game :D

It doesn't generate stress for me, only feelings (joy/anger/tilt).
I think it depends on the values you are playing. Always play just the ammount you afford to lose without any problems. If you do that, don't need to worry or to stress.
Ofcourse, you will still have moments when getting a bad beat and get angry, but that is manageable compared to stress.

I also have stress sometimes, which might be caused by the uncertainty of the game, I think a little stress is helpful for the performance of the game, but too much stress would destroy us mentally. Doing physical exercise will help to cope with stress problem.

Because I dont put my own money in (just try to win money from free rolls) I don't get too stressed when playing poker, but it is slightly annoying when my odds are great like AA but i loose to something weak

I usually relax after tournaments with a small amount of alcohol, but very carefully. I am strongly against alcohol during the game, but after the game alcohol helps to cope with euphoria and has a good effect on my sleep.

I don't tend to feel stressed playing poker usually, but have noticed that if and when I do, it's not just with poker, it seems to be when my whole life is generally stressed. So, I have learned not to play when things in my life are out of kilter because that's when I am more likely to find it difficult to stay calm so it then becomes an exaggeration of all the frustrations going on in my life in general.

So best to play when I'm fairly relaxed and just want to enjoy the game for what it is, that way, I can easily deal with the inevitable frustrations.

My stress related to poker is much better after I learned to accept the bad beats. I know that no matter how good I play and make the right calls, there are days that bad beats will happen and I just accept them and move on.

I don’t think that I have stress during tournaments or games, I feel excited and maybe worry in critical moments, for example, in all-in.
However, I sometimes like stress after the tournament or after my poker session if I lost or don’t like my game during it.
Nevertheless, if people have stress during poker, would they play it? My opinion is that the correct topic would be “worries and poker” or something like that.
