It is difficult to eliminate stress, as it is natural for a person, but it can be mitigated by good play, stopping parenting, taking a break, and not giving up big money.

I think stress is just a result of the pressure you put on yourself for the result. If you play with the intention of improving yourself regardless of the result, you will be satisfied, you will be happy when you win and you will feel less pressure when you lose, even taking lessons from the defeat for the next session.

We do stress while playing but I don't think it's a big negative stress...

So true, but sadly sometimes we still stress, because it could be external reasons, something happened, and it's not always easy to identify, because it could be just someone who is noisy, and makes you tilt, sometimes without noticing it, until you get to play.

I'm still playing poker for the enjoyment more so than anything else. As such, I don't find that I get overly stressed after a bad beat.

I may find myself cursing for a minute, but it passes very quickly and I'd say it's a mild annoyance than stress.

If you find yourself stressing out playing poker, then perhaps it would be a good idea to look at why you are playing and whether it would be worth taking a step back and taking a break for a while.

Before each poker session I do an exercise so I don't get stressed about losses and bad beats, but even so I still get stressed

I usually play poker to distract myself and pass the time, and I play a lot of freerolls, so poker is not a stressful thing for me.

It is very stressful to lose a hand that you have won 90%, it happens but it is sad

I began to notice that I was less nervous during the game. With time comes balance and calmness. Play the way you want and be what will be.

I know what you’re talking about, and I think all the players at some point wondered the same thing. I think stress is an unavoidable part of a game called poker. With an indication of "play", don't forget that. In those moments, it might not be bad to meditate, or to do a deep breathing exercise. Like I said, poker is just a game after all, and it's not wise to lose health because of it.

I am often disappointed, but I don't feel stressed when I play poker. I don't lose much; there's not point to get stressed about it.

The best way to deal with this is to build volume, play for the long haul and just accept that you have no control over the cards.

I don’t know if poker can relieve stress, it seems to me it depends on the person, he can sometimes rather drive me into it due to some kind of move or loss, so I probably wouldn’t play poker stress to overcome stress, but then again, each person is individual I'm only leaning on myself

No stress at all! If you only gamble what you can afford to lose. I find it relaxing as it’s cheaper than going out to a movie with a drink and popcorn!

Hi Friend.

As long as you play the game the right way, be patient, the best days will come.

How to you deal with the stress that comes with the swings in poker? I get so stressed out when playing poker. When i run good its awesome but it really hurts when i take a big loss. The stress really geta to me too. It gets hard to sleep and sometimes i dont eat. Does anyone have any tips for dealing with the stress that comes with poker?
I mainly play in SNGs, triple-up games to be precise. I maintain a 300:1 stake to buy-in ratio. That's a $15,000 stake for the $50 buy-ins that I play. The most I've been down, so far, is around $1,000 after a long bat beat losing streak. I wasn't stressed at all. The tide turned and I got it back in a week or two. Now if the stake had dwindled to $7,500, then I might have been stressed.

Sometimes it's better to get distracted by some things, like watching movies with your family, or going out for a walk, and forget about poker a little.

Basically, if you're stressed about poker, you shouldn't be playing.
I only get stressed - or maybe we can call it nervous, or frustrated - when I lose to a weaker hand and am out of the game. The next day, this feeling disappears.
It's just a game and you have to treat it as such.

For me, as a person who regularly plays poker, stress becomes very present, even though I already know that it is mathematically impossible to have good runs in “ALL” poker games I can play. Sometimes you lose and sometimes you win, just as stress can occur in both cases, losing a tournament besides being demoralizing is super stressful, but when you reach the final table and you have to win first place, I can assure you that stress is much greater in those cases.
