Welcome

Welcome to cards chat. I prefer Tournaments and do well with them. I like them because everyone is starting on even ground and you work from there. I will do cash games but they do not interest me as much.

If I could put it in to a perspective, it would be something like this.
Cash game is like art subject in school, and tournament like math class. Usually the mathematicly gifted students are not good in the art department and the other way round. There are exemptions of course. What do you think about people and how they play in both?
And how about you?

Good evening I'm a big fan of tournaments.

Personally I prefer to play tournament, I don't have enough bankroll to play cash game. Easy to loose if you play against a richplayer... All tournament are more limited ( rebuy, add-on, or different). It's more appropriate for me. It's more easy to be paid in tournament if you are a good slow gamer and also a good gamer.:driver:

I love both to be honest I just feel there both two different styles cash games you can just be there sitting for ever with cash in front and winning pots here and there and just making your stack bigger and bigger. Until you decided you've had a good session and leave. When as a tournament I mean the levels keep increasing antes and blinds so you cant just sit down cause little by little your always losing I guess it just depends what kind of tournament and the stakes In the tables. I think at the end though if have to go with tournaments I like them. But I consider my being both a cash game and tournament player.

I used to be a tournament player. My thought process was I buy in for a set amount and I can win 5X my buyin. After min cashing after 4 to 5 hours of play (live), I realized that I can sit at a cash table, and make 3X after playing solid for 2 to 3 hours (live). I do like to fire off at big tournaments with good GTDs, but I mainly play live cash.

I usually play both and I do not get into trouble when it comes to choosing, it all depends on my bankroll and the time I have available to play.

Hello I agree with you defined your cash games and tournaments you is great. I am also a tournament player but occasionally play and cash games. Cash games are art and most people prefer tournaments because there feel safe. Not to mention the tournament freerolls:D

Hello
For me tournaments is first choice.

I also play cash games, but to lose my bank roll.

Tournaments are good to spend more time playing poker for less money invested.

Cash games are fast money, double up or Zero down.:)

I started in poker playing limit hold'em, pot limit omaha single table tournaments and cash game and played for about a year these modalities. When I met Pokerstars I met No Limit Hold'em. Until then I was unaware of this poker mode that could put all the chips in the pot on the first bet. I did not seek studies so I ended up learning the basic rules of all modalities in the "by". Nowadays poker grows every day and every day appear new things like the 6+ that I have not particularly studied the rules and hand and I do not intend to short prose. Today I prefer to play regular or slow tournaments with bbs from 10 minutes because every day that passes poker is better known and many players are studying more and with the levels of 10 minutes it is easier for a player to define a game tactic in the course of the tournament analyzing the plays of the villains than a turbo tournament in which the player is obliged to acquire chips soon or ends up being eaten by the bbs and also for the reason that even being a player of micro limits there are micro or even tournaments satellites with low values that qualify for tournaments with bigger prizes in which in a few hours can be acquired good money in which hardly can be done in another modality.

tournament or cash

I would compare any tournament like a long distance game with obstacles. A cash game - like a chess game with several opponents (who sit at the cash table with you) Personally, I like tournaments more because they are more sporty, but in a cash game there are a lot of positives too - it's just not mine. Everyone chooses their type of game, considering their personal abilities and features of a game type of character. The cache is more expectant and more boring for sure. And tournaments are more dynamic and exciting. More interesting, because there every dec five minutes someone flies .There is often just watch the all-in from the opponents.:driver::driver::driver:

My element is a multi table tournament. Cash is not mine. There is no true excitement as in the tournament.

I already wrote that I was a tournament player. The cash game does not interest me at all. Although I can not say that I am a mathematically gifted person. I just like the competition.

I love tourney play but cash games are my addiction haha. I feel like I can't ever close out the tournaments, adjust for ICM etc. I need to work on that but it's easy to just sit at a cash table and play the game endlessly.
