Tournament or cash game ?

i really dont play cash games. the time i did, i did pretty good. i like tournaments a lot. and im always getting in to the money. but i dont play for money. i never deposited a cent into online poker. i use the money i win in freerolls. its not much but for me poker is more like a leisure.

Lately I have been down in cash games and up in tournaments so my results suggest I should stick to tournaments/sit & go' and stay away from cash games.

I like both modalities, since I can adapt my game as I participate in cash games or tournaments.
I usually play a single type until I decide to vary the modality.
I do not mix cash tables and tournaments in the same session, I prefer to play them separately.

Cash games for money. Tournaments for fun. Sit and go's if I want something fast just to kill time.

Hi! I play only tournaments, began to get acquainted with poker with them. Cash game for me, still quite unfamiliar world and I do not go there. I also like the fact that in tournaments everyone starts playing in equal conditions.

for live, i'm a cash game player and it worked out well. i've never actually had a chance to play a live mtt game. online, i'm by far an mtt/sng player. i had success playing online cash games, but just never felt comfortable. maybe it's the variance, not sure, but i've stayed away from playing online cash games.

In cash games dispersion
has less manifestation, but ROI you can show in tournaments with the positive EV session can be very exciting

Cash game is like art subject in school, and tournament like math class. Usually the mathematicly gifted students are not good in the art department and the other way round. There are exemptions of course. What do you think about people and how they play in both?

Good Morning ! I prefer to play tournaments think much better.

I LOVE TO PLAY TOURNAMENTS AND NOT A GAME CACHE HERE IS A DEFINED LIMIT AND YOU WILL NOT LOSE THIS AMOUNT.

I play both, live and online, less live lately, but getting back to it. I have more experience playing live cash games than online, and I find them to be very different in how they play ... and where I feel very good about live cash games, I am really just now starting to learn online cash games. So there is a lot of studying going on.

As far as tournament play, I prefer online, to brick and mortar, simply for the convenience of being at home and comfortable, however I am dressed or feel. Another thing I would point out is the time involved, my last online tournament was a few days ago and it took 5 hours to wind down and bust just outside the final table with 560 runners, and 15 minute blinds ?? IIRC ... a similar live tournament would have taken days possibly, depending upon the blinds of course ...

Online I started with tournaments as freerolls, like many here it was a road to having cash without making a deposit .. and so far it has worked fairly well. I also think it is better to start, at the bottom of the pay scale so to speak ... so freerolls filled that role ..

I have to say I do prefer the excitement level and unknowns of tournament play, there is nothing like outlasting several hundred to come close to a win or actually take it, or to come back from the dead to do well : )

Cash games for me are rote play and really just to make money at least at the levels I am playing online so far, I am sure in time and provided I am able to move up the stakes, the challenge will increase.

I prefer to play tournaments in general since I don't do very well in cash games.

I am in favor of any kind of tournament, I think the more tournament you play, the more you learn.

I decided to try some more cash games online lately and am starting to think I may be better off sticking more with cash. I have been doing decent (knock on wood ) as of late. Seems like I always make it deep in tournaments and ultimately min cash or for a unspectacular amount.. not to mention that my tournament exit is often being unlucky. I do enjoy playing tournaments tho. So I will try my hand at both but definitely continue playing cash.

I flew so many times from tournaments at the most important moments with the best hand !!! cache and only cache !!

I started playing only tournaments but recently started playing cash games and finding it much more interesting so I’m sticking with cash now. It’s nice to be able to play when you have just a limited amount of time and can leave any time. It’s interesting!

My game is tournaments. And cash game for me is a different world, a different strategy, discipline.

What do you prefer tournaments or cash tables?

Cash. hands down. No contest. Tournament have too much gamble for me. Plus I have to commit a ton of time with no gather I'll be playing that long. Also, I can decide me expectation in most small cash games.

I like tournaments with less input. At tournaments, I play like that calmly. At cash tables you always see cash in front of you and their presence makes it difficult to play. I feel sorry for them. Therefore, probably on my cash tables the game is played in a very constrained mode. Sometimes you need to take a chance and bluff to do ah, I can’t get it out of hand.

Tourneys are my favorite simply because the return you can get on your investment. Grinding cash games all day seems exhausting.

Tournaments. i m studying to play, and this type letting more options for improve. Poker its a game for me, not job. Cash its for fast make money. imho

Definitely tournaments, less tension for me.
