What I really love about this thread is that many of you are mentioning players I haven’t ever heard of. I’m pretty removed from the pro tours and I like seeing new names to follow.
Makes me glad that our poker world is still going strong!

I would say that Phil Yvey was the fastest to accumulate 10 bracelets 14 years from his first bracelet to the tenth and holds the all-time record for bracelets won in events outside of Hold'em with his 11 victories

Today there are so many poker players that there are so evenly matched. Since I don't have any favorite I had no choice but to look at the Hendon Mob Poker Database. There I looked at the Global Poker Index Rating and in the first place is Jesse Lonis so I'll pick him.

He is playing NL Holdem but also is specialized in Omaha tournaments. How long he will be on the top remains to be seen.

There are two players who have caught my attention.
Adrián Mateos is currently the highest-earning live tournament player, having collected over $13 million in 2024 alone.
Jeremy Ausmus is the 2024 Poker Tour Player of the Year, with six titles and nearly $6 million in winnings.
The best of them all is Jeremy Ausmus.

I'm not very familiar with who's on top right now, but when it comes to live tournaments, I like Negreanu — he's a very charismatic and open player.

I think the format matters- in a game like HU online, DN would and has got crushed at the higher limits.

But if its live HU he may be one of the better players.

I mean AI is likely the best professional poker player now. I wouldn't be surprised if over time the correct model could come out far ahead.

From what I've seen, the list is quite extensive! Partially, I find it hard to decide, as I don't follow the news regularly and don't have idols. Yes, some might mention Negreanu and many other top players, but I can highlight from that group - Phil Ivey, Jason Koon. However, I also want to mention some Ukrainian names: Roman Yurkiy, Kyrylo Romash, Bohdan Haidashchuk, and others - you will hear more from them!

Jesse Lonis, Nationality USA.This year he won over $6,000,000 and I consider him the best player (one of his winnings being $3,446,298 in Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Montenegro,No Limit Hold'em - Triton Main Event (Event #10) (May 21 - 23, 2025).

I think the best player s are now , the triton high stakes players are the best, not a tournament player because anybody can win huge money with tournament that makes you not the best player I think, general good cash players are the best I think.
