At first I also thought it was pure gambling, not very different from slot machines.
Until a friend taught me the rules, and I noticed watching games, that many times the round ended without turning over the cards. How could that be random?
So I got interested and learned on my own.

Dave "Devilfish" Ulliot was a player I watched on Late night Poker many Years ago also a very Young less known player called Phil Helmuth Who appeared on the show occasionally, Boy how things have changed! My all time favourite Player was The Godfather of Poker Doyle Brunson mainly because he showed me it doesn't matter how old you get, You still have a game in you.

YouTube brought me to poker. I watched video games and I liked the game after I started learning poker and its rules when I learned how to play poker a little bit, I started playing poker and trying I liked the game I'll fight and I started playing it every day and continue to do the same thing playing poker and studying

I'm another who watched the TV show Late Night Poker a long time ago and thought it looked cool. That must have been 20 years ago now. I played for a year or so back then but lost interest. I've just started playing again recently.

An uncle of mine taught me 5 card draw. Few years later I saw in ESPN, I think that it was the wsop Main Event, or something sponsored by PokerStars, I begin to play since then.

My husband inspired me. He had played since he was about 12 and I would watch him during online poker games and even some in the casinos. Thought I would give it a whirl and there you have it, now Im hooked!

When a certain Chris moneymaker won the WSOP, the game was on everyone's lips with my friends and we met up every Friday to play poker and learn it ourselves. We all didn't really know it yet. We enjoyed it so much that we met up every Friday and eventually started playing for small change. That's how I got into poker.

For me is a very good friend who showed this game. 15 years ago, when he had just turned 18, he registered on the PS since he didn't have his own computer at that time, he played at our house, it was exciting to watch, I even tried to advise him what to do at some points, and even advised him correctly, it fascinated me so much that I started watch tournaments, follow professionals.
