Why do you love poker, and how did you get into it?

When I was about 14, we played a game called Michigan Rummy, To start the game all the players made the best poker hand out of the cards dealt to them. We did not know how to play poker to start the game. My aunt taught me how with written hand values and I taught the others. Shortly after that we abandoned the Michigan rummy and just played poker.

My mom taught me 7 card stud when I was about 5 yrs old. Loved the game ever since. Over 40 yrs now.

I just enjoy the pressure and thought process involved with each decision you make. I’ve started playing because some of my friends played NLHE and got hooked on it immediately after the first tournament I played in.

I started playing poker two years ago.
In the first year, I lost about 5 deposits for a total amount of about $ 100. I played in various tournaments and cash games. After that, I began to play only in freerolls, and every time I tried to improve my game.

I'm not a gambler at heart, but I love games and the environment involved with it, even though gambling has taken its toll on people.

I grew up with the usual stud and draw poker games, but they never grabbed me. It wasn't until I got familiar with Texas Hold-em that I started to get interested. From there, Omaha hi-lo became one of my favourite forms of poker, although the hands can turn around so quickly in that game, I sometimes regret my attraction to it.

The first time I played Texas Hold-em live at a house tourney, I got my clock cleaned, but I still enjoyed the game and experience so much, I knew I'd become a regular player. Since then, I've actually started to take more interest enjoyment in the old games like stud and draw.

when I was a kid my dad took me into binions while they were playing the main event. it was ungers 2nd win and the picture from the first win was the last one on the wall. I went home and started playing for pennies and haven't stopped. been up, been down, been out, been in.
as soon as it hit the internet I started there too. my favorite tournaments to watch are online.

I like the math, calculating the chances, and poker is great for trying it out "for real"

I used to play a lot of blackjack, but got bored by it, because it lacks the human element, that comes with playing poker against unpredictable players, rather than a blackjack dealer who's got pre determined actions.

My dad taught me how to play when I was 16, around the time Casino Royal came out and poker was blowing up (mid 2000s).

Been a fan ever since.

I really like poker. The first time played four years ago in live. Drawn into the game immediately. I still can spend 2-3 hours in the evening giving poker with a cup of coffee. This is a very interesting game.:bebored:
