I play for fun. I am not addicted to the game because for me poker is first of all just a hobby. I play mainly in freerolls, and I do not invest my own funds unnecessarily.
Same. I think that it is more that possible to enjoy the game without being addicted to it

And I like to play mostly free games, which I don't think I can say I'm passionate about. Good luck to everyone.

At first, I think he was addicted. The limit is when you no longer have fun with the game.

Like most people, I'm also into poker, currently playing 50/50 freerolls and low-cost tournaments.

I'm a poker addict, but I don't play when I don't have money, unless you count free tournaments :D
A correct diagnosis is half the success on the road to recovery. The course of treatment with the help of theoretical and practical classes at the pokerstars school and perhaps soon you will stop visiting the forum of fans of free freerolls. I have to write posts, otherwise nothing.👩‍🎓

Poker feels like work to me, before starting a session I sometimes feel like I don't want to go.

I think it's good to see this game as a job than to see it as a fun game that gives you pleasure and adrenaline, it will help you better manage and understand bad run periods instead tilt and lose your money.

Depends how you define 'poker addict'. It is a fact that since I have started to play again, I am dedicating a lot of my time towards poker, but I have a tendency to do that with whatever I do - concentrate all my energy into it, which is probably not healthy as well. Other than time though, I don't waste money and try to be mindful of maintaining a healthy balance. It's important to approach poker with a disciplined mindset and set limits on time and money spent, so you can prioritize other aspects of life as well.

Determining whether you have a gambling addiction, including a potential poker addiction, is a serious matter that requires self-reflection and, in some cases, professional assistance. Here are some signs that may indicate a poker addiction:

  1. Preoccupation with Poker: You find yourself constantly thinking about poker, planning the next game, or reliving past poker experiences. It becomes a dominant topic in your thoughts and conversations.
  2. Difficulty Controlling Poker Playing: You struggle to limit the amount of time and money you spend on poker. You may have attempted to cut back or quit playing but find yourself unable to do so.
  3. Neglecting Responsibilities: You start neglecting important responsibilities, such as work, relationships, or personal obligations, in favor of playing poker. Your poker playing begins to interfere with other areas of your life.
  4. Chasing Losses: You continue to play poker despite experiencing significant financial losses. You may believe that if you keep playing, you will eventually recover your losses, leading to a cycle of chasing losses.
  5. Escalating Stakes: You find yourself consistently increasing the stakes you play, seeking bigger thrills and higher risks. This can be an attempt to recapture the excitement and rush that you experienced in the early stages of playing poker.
  6. Hiding or Lying About Poker Activities: You feel the need to hide your poker playing from friends, family, or loved ones. You may lie about the amount of time and money spent on poker or downplay the negative consequences.
  7. Emotional Distress: Poker playing starts to cause emotional distress, including feelings of guilt, shame, anxiety, or depression. You may experience mood swings related to your poker activities.
  8. Financial Consequences: Poker playing leads to significant financial problems, such as debt, borrowing money, or resorting to illegal activities to fund your poker playing.
If you identify with several of these signs, it may be an indication of a potential poker addiction. It is important to seek help and support from professionals who specialize in gambling addiction or mental health. They can provide guidance, resources, and assistance in managing and overcoming the addiction.

Remember, self-diagnosis is not a substitute for a professional assessment. If you suspect you have a gambling addiction, it is advisable to consult with a qualified healthcare professional or reach out to a helpline specifically dedicated to gambling addiction in your country.

I don't know that I'm usually addicted, I never takes on the addiction, I can say that I prefer poker to many social events, despite that I never lost 1 dollar of mine in any game, I make money in freerolls and later I won more in other tournaments, I'm addicted to playing poker and not into losing money
