I like watching streaming with pro poker players. You can learn how to play individual hands, they also often discuss their play. I think it's a nice form of learning.

First time playing poker was 2013 playing real money cash game 0.25/0.50 and i have no idea how and when i win, all what i like is when i go allin everyone fold so i am a winner :p that's slots by the way not poker!
So i start watching main event pokerstars ohh how much i like that better than a movie that time. Now i play 2 to 3 hours a day and to be clear i win but when i get bored after a long tournament i start playing like 2013 and loss of course in late position getting my buy-in and some extra.
I think poker is so addictive and so many just playing for fun, and never trust poker and gambling to feed your family. Get a real jobs or build one.

10 years with friends and acquaintances. I always won and tried pokerstars. very bad software. 1 or 2 out also always wins against me, but for me the 20-21 out never comes. why?

Old school Poker player

Old school Poker player self taught, started watching my father play in the mid sixties. I was a runner for poker games that my father played in. I use to run for drinks , smokes, sandwiches etc. To this day I play with a gut feeling and it still holds course. I had a nice run the last nine days and I am happy it is over for now, I was consumed but I was winning. The mental grind was intense just like playing golf , when your hot your hot. I have taught my three sons to play and they are hooked, of course we play with play chips. Pass the tradition on.

started plying poker...

I started playing poker in 2004 when there was no Hockey strike and I started watching poker on TV. It was fascinating me how anyone can play with famous poker players and if lucky enough you can win big.
So I looked for local games at first and found a couple live poker games locally. Then I started playing online for real money and started to get pretty good. I also decided to run my own game which was fun but had to stop cause thr crowds were to big and my wife did not like that.
I still play but not as often but still hope to make it to a big WPT or world series of poker tournament one day. Perhaps once I retire from my job and have more time on my hands.

I started playing different variants of poker in 1997. Started playing Hold-em in 2004.

I learned the game of poker from my grandmother. I learned how to play y watching my family play at family parties until I was able to play myself. I used to watch who was winning and why. Best lesson I got from that was how my grandfather always won the most money but seemed to play fewer hands than everyone. My uncle seemed to win the most pots but always was reaching in his pocket for more money. Later learned how its more important not to lose money than it is to try to win every pot.

I have gotten to a point that I can sustain a profit by playing poker. I am not at a point I can live on, but its enough to do things I would otherwise not afford.

I've always been curious about poker. I used to play poker on FB a while ago, always as a hobbie, and in the past I bought some books but never read them so in the end I had to sell them.

I created this username almost a year ago, but just this year, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, I've found time to actually study poker and start playing some freerolls, so I'd consider March 2020 as my official starting date.

I'm aware that making money will take a few months at least, so we'll see where I am at the end of the year and decide whether I want to keep pursing this or not.

2018 September, after watching The Trooper 97 vlogs (yes really) when I came back from my first trip to Vegas. Forums (mainly here) videos and books although I don't 'really' study is how I learnt although I knew the basics from years ago I just never got into it. This year is at break even or a bit over again (roughly) so I feel that I am doing OK. A few final tables, a few cash pay offs.
Poker is the cheapest hobby I have ever had and it has paid for 1 trip to Vegas already so its also profitable. :D

2012 I started playing poker, on pokerstars. I played play chips, and won millions of chips. So a year later, I felt I was ready ,to play for real money. Then I made a deposit, started playing in very low buy in tournaments. Started win a little bit at times. Got my bank roll up and withdrew, and from there lost the remainder of my money. From there I realized I don't have the luck my hands would never hold up, so I just started playing free buys or free rolls to build bank rolls. I felt I would keep on losing , if I made more deposits, I didn't want to lose my winnings I had. That is how I learned to play poker , play chips at pokerstars for over a year.

I got to know poker in 2013 through a PokerStars client.I also liked to watch poker broadcasts on TV.Daniel Negreanu was the main star of poker on PokerStars.A video Poker training course from Poker Stars was also released.I studied and played poker losing bankroll after bankroll.I wanted to meet a professional player and train with a coach. It wasn't that easy at the time. Now in 2020, poker is at the peak of popularity. If you are an Amateur, there are many opportunities for you to learn poker and become a professional poker player.Poker schools, foundations, Bence courses, and others coaches and poker streamers, poker everywhere.Good luck in your endeavors.

I learned about poker 3 weeks ago and am hard at work learning how to play it. Of course, I learned the basic rules right away, but I will learn to play poker well all my life. :)

My grandma taught me how to play poker when I was around 5 years old back in the 1970's. I would play later in my teenage years with my parents and their friends, but it wasn't until the online poker boom that I really started playing a lot. It was at that point that I started reading every book I could get my hands on, and that's when my game was really taken to the next level.

Oh, i play poker since the year 1857... i'll never forget those days... ( ^.^)

My wife had died from typhus and my friends taught me how to play poker to help me move on in my life.. When the civil war broke out in 1861, i enlisted in the army, so i didn't really play poker all that much during that period although we did play in our barracks sometimes using musket-balls instead of pokerchips... After the war, i started playing poker in local bars where i was able to make a decent living with my poker earnings. I had everything that i had ever wanted, a big house and a new wife.

i kept on playing poker at bars and casinos during the early 1900's until i was sent to Europe in 1944 to fight in the second world war, where i learned to play 5 card poker at Omaha Beach... After a few months however, i got severely wounded and was sent back to my home town for treatment.

in the late 90s, i started playing online poker which sounded interesting to me because of my old age.. Things didn't go very well for me though. i've lost all the money that i have made throughout the centuries... i completely lost my mind and was eventually sent to a mental institution where i remain till this day. :(

Nowadays i sit behind my old Windows XP computer trying to get back in the game by playing Cardschat Freerolls on Pokerstars...
