My friends taught me the rules of holdem a few years ago, but i learned to more advanced strategies from books by pros, such as doyle brunson, hellmuth, harrington and david skalantsky(however you spell it).etc. All amazing books
I started playing for pennies with my brother and the neighbor kids from across the dirt road from our house. Seven card stud (Dr. Pepper style! --- 10's, 2's, 4's wild); Seven stud low hole card wild, 7 card no peekie night baseball--you name it, we played it and the more wild cards the better. 10 years later I played in my first casino game and got my wild-card-reared butt kicked by a bunch of rocks who must have been salivating when I sat down.Nick said:Funnily enough, I learnt to play online, using a tutorial I found on holdempoker.com quite a while ago... since then I've progressed from playing with play money chips onto real money.... also playing some games for some decent money with friends. How about you? Where did you learn?
