How many time have you witnessed or experienced a bad call or mucked cards that should not have been mucked?
Table selection is a key element in winning live poker.

The first thing you do is watch a hand being dealt with a critical eye. You want to make sure the dealer is professional. Second, take your seat and pass a chip as a tip to the dealer before you look at your cards. The third tip is to always use a card protector! 4. Have a problem? Never raise your voice. Speak softly and end your stated objection with a question directed at the dealer. Tip your dealer after they resolve the problem.
Win a huge pot? Tip your dealer.
If you do these few things as a habit you will have many a pleasant session.
How often do you tip your dealer?

Hi.
Unfortunately, I have no way to play live. But in my opinion, giving advice to the dealer is not quite correct.
Good luck.

giving advise to dealer

Agree 100%.
Dealers don't need any advise from players.

I do not have the opportunity to play in a live casino and play poker or in casino tables with live players, my game is only online, but I really want to try playing live poker in a casino or blackjack, but I think that if you will come A good card in a live game and you will win good money, and you can give a dealer a couple of hundred as a sign of gratitude, good luck in your games online and in a live game!

Even if i could play life i still would NOT tip the dealer 😎

I play small stakes so I go with half the rake, rounded down. It usually works out to $0 for small or blinds only pots, $1 for average pots, and $2 for larger pots.

I have not played in a casino with live games for a long time. I once was a dealer in a casino when I was a student, and I was pleased when they gave tips. Therefore, I would prefer to tip the dealer, but a little later after I finish my game for that day if I go for a good plus.

I tip the dealer only after big wins. Therefore, this happens very rarely.😀😀😀

My Tipping Explained

In my experience tipping when you first take a seat is rare so it has real +EV. Dealers like to help tippers. A well-tipped dealer will step in quickly to answer for you how many chips you have when a villain asks. I find this very helpful because I don't like to answer any questions when either it's my turn to bet or after I've raised.

Tip the dealer after significant pot wins. The most I tipped the dealer after 1 won a hand was $25 and the pot shipped was $1400.

If I take a pot besides the blinds, Normally throwing something there way.

The only times I tip the dealer is after a winning hand. I wouldn't tip the dealer in other instances, but I do tip even if it's a so-called "bad" dealer simply because I appreciate the service they provide.
I have seen people tip the dealer for other things, like "washing the deck" or "running it down" to see what would have happened if they hadn't folded.

You actually aren't obligated to count your chips for an opponent. And people ask to intentionally determine if you've got a hand or if you're bluffing based on how you act while counting them out. I usually just respond with "this many" and point down at my stacks. If they demand to know, I wait for the dealer to count them out for me. But according to the wsop official rules:

62. Count of Opponent’s Chip Stack: Participants are entitled to a reasonable estimation of opponents’ chip stacks. Participants may only request a more precise count if facing an all-in bet. The all-in participant is not required to count; if he opts not to, the dealer or floor will count it. Accepted action applies.

My opinion

I like to tip the dealer every win. I usually am a little crazy and like to have a beer when i go out. I don't hold up the table. I know my limits and usually lose when I play. Its a fun night out and try to keep it real with the dealer and pit.

And thats a good reason why I love playing online. Even in online with rakeback points system I am break even. I could not imagine having to tip the dealer too. In Zynga you could tip the dealer, I am amazed that Pokerstars dont offer the option😀

Tips for dealers were larger when they were hand shuffling the deck. Since casinos started putting in auto-shuffler approx. 6 years ago (ie. deck-make) dealers do nothing, the dealer is not dealing you the cards the machine is and thus the tips and amount have decreased.

I prefer not to do it, they are working, not that they live on our commissions

Always Tip The Dealer

I believed in good karma throughout my entire life

Ever since I started playing live poker, I always tipped the dealer

I was a dealer myself at underground games in NY, so I know how it feels

When it comes to the amount of tipping, it varies

If I am playing 1/2 stakes or 1/3, and I win pot sizes below $50, I will generally tip $1

If I win a pot anywhere from $100-$500, I will tip $2-3, depending on the size of the pot

If I win a pot over $500, I generally tip $5

I think it's a bit silly that you're expected to tips dealers yet not expected to tip the person making minimum wage pumping your gas for you in -5 degree weather.

We're already taking a gamble and playing at a disadvantage due to rake but then we have to hand over free money to the guy who is already getting paid hourly? Oh hell Naw.

O and then after we win and give some guy free money we have to hand over another 25% of those winnings to the government for free so they can pay for post birth abortions?

My goal when playing poker is to tip the dealer as much as possible, because that means I am winning a lot...in most casinos, the winning hand tips the dealer unless the pot is strictly the blinds. It is common to tip $1 for pots up to around $50-70, $2 dollars for $75 to $200ish, and $5 for big pots in the hundreds. The dealers get paid minimum wage and rely on tips to get by financially. Those of you who begrudge dealers their tips are probably not tipping your restaurant servers either because they do not cook your food, they just bring it to the table. Considering that dealers and servers must accept all the verbal abuse that goes with the job, they EARN every penny they get in tips...and for those of you who have never played live poker, trust me, there is a great deal of verbal abuse towards the dealers...the fact that they do not even shuffle anymore and have zero control over the cards makes it totally stupid to blame them for a loss.

I pretty much tip the dealer after every time I win. If I happen to win big, I tip more.

When I finish a session and don't want to carry any $1 bills, I just tip all the $1 chips I have left because I'd rather carry even money.

Eye contact and an acknowledgement of the tip is always expected. If the dealer does not do this then guess what..no tip.

Thats a bad way to look @ it.

They work for their $, they barely get paid.

I worked as a dealer in a local club for a while, and its very tedious and you put in hard work trying to deal quickly and accurately. Many players are very rude / disrespectful to dealers and don't make their jobs any better.

I don't think you need to tip every hand you win, just depending on the size of the pot, attitude of the dealer, and their work ethic.

After a tournament win or cash, I tip roughly 5%. After a big pot win in a cash game, I usually tip the small blind.

Big Pots!

I do it whenever I win a big pot (and into the same proportion). I don´t see any problem on tipping ....
