Hello everyone!

I figured instead of making a new topic each time an article comes out that I've written for Ante Up Magazine, I will just post about them here when they come out.

My first article was released in the September 2024 issue. And now my second article titled, "Home Game Hero" has been released in the October 2024 issue.

When it comes to poker at Ante Up Magazine, I'll be writing mostly about live poker, home games, rec poker, live etiquette, and maybe even a little bankroll management, including a possible article about building from $0 or from a micro bankroll for the rec player.

Please check out Ante Up Magazine (link is at the bottom of this post) when you get the chance. There are a lot of great contributors and ambassadors at Ante Up. They've really made me feel at home there and feel like I bring something of value to the table.

I also appreciate you all for the insight you've given me in my first article!

You can see my new article in the October 2024 issue on Page 13.

Hey Jason,

Nice both articles. Keep it up. Looking forward for next editions and your contribution.

I have one suggestion though. I would suggest that you give link directly on to the magazine (like the first time you did) or at least on to the page where the magazine can be opened. By that it will bring more first timers directly to the article and they wouldn't have to search it through the website.

Something like this:
or

It just a suggestion though.

My article for December 2024 is up! I didn't get one in for November, because I was dealing with stuff at home after Hurricane Helene. But December is out now! You can find my article on Page 13!

Hey everyone! The new January 2025 issue of Ante Up Magazine is up! Ante Up has changed their format a little and have gone with a subscription base model. This helps the magazine grow and helps the contributors of the magazine as well.

I got the okay to screenshot and post my article here by our Ante Up Magazine publisher, Joe Scales. I'll provide a link to subscribe to the magazine if you choose at the bottom, like I would have if I were to add a link to my article. It's a wonderful magazine overall, and I'm not just saying that because I'm writing there. I wanted to write there because I love the magazine, and I'm glad they are allowing me to continue writing for them each month.

I hope you all like it!

^ When you go to the link, it may have a pop up. The subscription is NOT the pop up. Close that out and look at the page itself. They are trying to fix the pop up that happens on the website.

Not sure how I missed these, Bookmarked now & will do some reading this weekend. Congrats Jason, looking forward to the read.

I'm late in posting this one thanks to my Vegas trip, but the new Ante Up Magazine issue has been out for about a week. I wrote on a subject that I've done a lot of research on in the past. And to be honest, I really thought I was going to write more on this. I might have to do an extensive Part 2 another time.

There was no magazine issue last month. Joe was sick and couldn't get it out last month, so this month's issue is even bigger.

For this month, I wrote about something a little bit different. This article may be... no, it IS my favorite article that I have written so far, because it is a bit more personal. I wrote a 2-page article about scheduling my wedding during the wsop. I hope you all like it!

After Covid, they took some down time from the magazine and then the original owners sold it to the now owners, Joe and Elle Scales, who have been running that and their podcast for a few years now .

Congratulations! 🎉 Getting one article published is an achievement, but having a second article released the very next month is impressive.

The topics you mentioned—live poker, home games, etiquette, and bankroll management—are areas that many players can relate to, especially recreational players. I'll definitely check out the "Home Game Hero" article.

Wishing you continued success with your writing, and I look forward to seeing future articles from you in Ante Up Magazine. ♠️📝

Thanks, but if you scroll up, you'll see I've written several articles for Ante Up Magazine since September/October 2024 now. 🙂

This is really cool! Somehow I missed this when you first posted. Nice article. It’s a great premise because it immediately made me think of my home game stories. It would be a great thread if you haven’t created one already.

I listened regularly to the podcast back when it was hosted by Scott Long and Chris Cosenza. I really enjoyed it and those two characters. I even looked into going on one of the Ante Up cruises (that fell through). I was sad when they stopped and listed to the first episode or two with Joe Scales but could y get into it. Maybe it’s worth checking out again.
