Nervous for live poker

Yeah, I still get a few nerves before a live session. After the first orbit it usually disappears. I just remind myself to play my normal game and not worry about what other people think. Once you're focused on the hands, the nerves fade pretty quickly.

A little nervousness can be healthy. It's more like excitement and wanting to play well. Yerkes-Dodson Law shows what various levels of nervousness means.
You're not wrong.....I find I rarely get involved in a huge hand before the first orbit is finished.....unless I already know the player/players involved in the hand so have some reads on them. Also the threat of getting down or busted and having to buy back back in that early really makes me cautious.

Cheers!!!

I haven't had a chance to play live yet. I'm really looking forward to my first time.

Same as myself. Usually have a beer to relax and once an orbit goes by I settle in

I am always nervous playing no limit holdem with 80 plus dollars on the felt in front of me . One poor read or bad luck and your buyin is gone . No fun .

This is a common situation, everyone is nervous, you just need to turn it to your side, what does not make us stronger

Oh hell yeah! I get nervous/excited just driving to the casino. I tend to deliberately play tight for the first orbit or two. Make sure I regulate my breathing and get my heart rate down and also take the time to pay attention to my opponents a bit more.

I still get a few nerves before a live session, especially if it's a bigger game or a room I haven't played in before. For me, the key is accepting that it's normal instead of trying to fight it. I focus on making good decisions rather than worrying about the outcome of the first few hands. Getting there a little early, taking a moment to observe the table, and reminding myself to play my usual strategy helps me settle in. After an orbit or two, it usually just feels like another poker session.
