The schedule for the 2026 wsop has games starting next month (May 26th) through July 15th (Day One of the Main Event starts on July 2nd).

I know I've dreamed about entering the Main Event, but even if I could afford the buy-in, I'm not sure I could play well in such a grueling and multi-day event! But that's just me. So let's dream a little and see what you would do in this scenario:

You are given $10,000, but the catch is that it can only be spent only on registering for WSOP events.

So, how would you use it?

I would map out the following schedule to use my $10k.
May 31st - $600 event 10 deepstack NLHE
June 1st - $1500 event 13 6 handed NLHE
June 7th - $500 event 25 freezeout NLHE
June 14th - $800 event 43 8 handed deepstack NLHE
June 22nd -$2500 event 62 NLHE
July 1st -$600 event 78 NLHE deepstack championship
July 4th -$1000 event 85 NLHE
July 14th -$800 event 98 NLHE deepstack
July 15th - $1000 event 100 NLHE super turbo.

Leaves me around $700 i reckon...im sure i can find something else WSOP event related to spend that on...

June 10 - $500 Colossus NLHE
June 12 - $5,000 Seniors HiRoller
June 15 - $1,000 Seniors NLHE Championship
June 17 - $1,500 Millionaire-Maker NLHE
June 22 - $1,000 Super Seniors NLHE
June 23 - $1,000 Mystery Millions

I had hopes of going during the Senior's week for the past few years but my partner's health kept it from happening. I have no regrets about not going... maybe still one day in the future (maybe next year!?). Senior's week there are plenty of Senior's tournaments happening in Vegas. I think it'd be a great time to go (+ev)

If i would be given ten thousand dollars to spend on the world series of poker i think i would directly buy-in into the main event and concentrate only on that very tournament instead of playing multiple events.

I would definitely play a few events with a total of $10K buy-in instead of throwing it all on the main event in which I have no experience.

Exactly my friend. I want to play as many wsop events, max out my value on the 10k, soak in the experience.
Dont get me wrong - i can see the attraction of the main event but for me - i wanna play more than one tourney if im going WSOP.

Totally right. Who hasn't thought about that main event and the "potential FT" 😜.
But like you said, why not play more than one tourney? Imagine putting it all on the ME and getting knocked out in a couple of hours?

WSOP Event #1: $550 No-Limit Hold'em Mini Mystery Millions 14 re-entries across flights A-F - Budget $550 to $7700

WSOP Event #25: $500 No-Limit Hold'em Freezeout

Any remaining buyins go to WSOP Event #50: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Millionaire Maker or WSOP Event #34: $500 No-Limit Hold'em Colossus as both of those have many flights as well.

More games means more networking and more stories.

I would use the money to play the Main n Event…that is a bucket list item for me but I don’t think I could bring myself to use my own poker bankroll for such a large buy in. I play leagues and hope to play some satellites for a chance at the Main Event. But, if someone handed me $10k for the WSOP, I would take it and play the Main Event in a heartbeat! A dream come true!

Somehow I've seen $100,000 instead of $10,000, sorry everyone :(
But that's how I would spend $100k haahah

I would definitely play the $500 Colossus, the $1,500 Millionaire Maker, the $1,700 No-Limit Hold’em U.S. WSOP Circuit Championship, and also WSOP Event #32: $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em. The rest would be smaller No-Limit Hold’em events or side events that aren’t too expensive.

Wow if someone gave me 10k to go to the WSOP I would definitely wait and play the Main Event. That is the pinnacle of poker tournaments. This is the one that we all dream of getting to play. And if you make it and win then you go down in history, your face will forever be on a banner hugging all that money and holding up that big diamond bracelet! It would be so much fun playing with Celebrities, Professionals, Regs, Recs, everyone there all with the same dream! Yeah this is the one for me!

I would definitely mix up my choice of games.

Included with them would be Event 2 and Event 31 (I cashed in that before).

The rest of the money might go on a couple of side events.

It would be very difficult for me to participate in such an event, since I have never played live, but if it happened and I won those 10,000 dollars, my expenses would be for events such as:

June 12th - $5,000 Seniors HiRoller

June 15 - $1000 NLHE Senior Championship

The rest would participate in tournaments with lower stakes to gain experience.

It has to be spent on WSOP but you didn't say I have to play myself ;)
I would probably buy action from several pros. All the great ones that battle against one another. Some of them will finish near top and I'll get a nice cut.
You know - work smart, not hard

You realise that the leading players are sponsored or people take a part of their action. My wish is to never play these games.
Some of the big winners in those categories I mention still lose money after their expenses are cleared, even though they may have been successful.

Definitely, if I qualified for an event of this magnitude, I would do a prior preparation with maximum dedication and focus solely on this endeavor.🤓🤑

Did you read the initial post? We've been GIVEN $10k to be spent on WSOP Events. (call it 'sponsored' if you will... or how about 'a windfall')
What is the relevance of 'big winners' overall results? (And if they actually are 'big winners', I'm pretty sure the very definition means they are ahead, also known as 'winning').
Of course a lot of players in the Vegas WSOP series aren't net winners. Rake is high and when you also add in what Trump is taking off one's winnings, you'd need to be crushing it to come out ahead. Most people realize this though and are going for the chance of winning the big one, for the overall experience, for the love of the game, for the chance to have done this, because this is what they like to do for their holidays, because they are a professional poker player and this is part of their work agenda.

If I was given $10k this year to go to Vegas and spend it on WSOP events, I probably wouldn't go. Not because I don't want to but because I wouldn't be able to be away from home for any longer than a couple days. Perhaps if they gave me the $10k to play next year I'd be able to do it. (my airfare, hotel & food would likely be over $10k... sigh )

Well I would try to play as many games as possible wi[h this 10k dollars , so as to get experience, learn more about live poker , have better chances to succeed in getting itm in one of them . The more the better . I wouldn't care eo much for the number of players , I would want the lowest possible buy ins . I would try to play with [his money during all the wsop month . I don't have specific preferences , but yeah , I would prefer more nlh , in any other game I am worse than nlh .

If they gave me the chance and offered me the $10000 I would sincerely use it only for the main event. For some reasons such as it would be a dream come true to be there at the greatest poker event, another reason being that I didn't put money out of my pocket to be there, and I know that all the players that are there are probably better than me, and they probably studied poker a lot more than me. So I have nothing to lose and everything to enjoy:)
