Having already played the Main Event (it's such a unique tournament, 2hr blind levels, freezeout, Day 1 & Day 2 being partial field) I'd play as many $1,500 or less NLH events as possible with the $10,000.

I was hoping that I'd have a few hundred left over to leave with you as a tip for giving me the $10,000 but unfortunately I didn't. So I guess that I'll need to go into my own pocket for that. :)

Beginning Balance ---------------------- $10,000

$1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Bette ------ $8,500
$1,500 Seven Card Stud --------------- $7,000
$500 NLHE Freezout ------------------- $6,500
$1,000 NLHE Seniors Flight A -------- $5,500
$1,000 NLHE Ladies Championship -- $4,500
$1,500 PLO Hi-Lo 8 or Better --------- $3,000
$1,500 Limit Hold 'Em ----------------- $1,500
$1,500 PLO - Flight A ------------------- $0.00

I think I'd try some small buyins in formats other than no limit holdem . $1,500 plo8 , stud 8 , razz etc , and senior and/or super senior events where hopefully you won't find as many wide raising GTO aggro cases !

I'd still use it for the Main Event!

Since it's a sponsored buy-in, I don't mind if I don't cash. Nothing gained, nothing lost!

What's particularly appealing about the Main Event is that almost all the pros participate, so you get to see them. You might even end up sitting at a table with one or two of them.

I am going to cheat here and not go by the stated rules, because they are not the best way to get ahead. I am going to play satellites and qualifiers (preferably 20% payout) to bet into events, and to sell duplicates to others?
Then when the Main event starts I will buy in with my winnings.

I really admire those of you who are experienced and confident enough to play mixed games.

I would definitely use the 10k to play as many tourneys as possible. The seniors and collossus would be high on my list. Would be sticking with NLHE though.

know the basics and I can hold my own sometimes, but I still make mistakes more than I’d like. I notice it especially when I start playing too many hands or get a bit impatient.

What’s helped me the most is just slowing down and being more selective. When I actually think through my decisions instead of reacting quickly, I play a lot better. It’s not about big plays for me, it’s more about staying consistent and not putting myself in bad spots.

I also feel like a lot of improvement just comes from experience. The more hands I play, the more situations start to feel familiar, even if I’m not doing anything advanced. I still struggle with reading people sometimes though, that’s probably where I feel the most average.

I’d rather maximize my chances and play a schedule that gives me multiple shots at a deep run. Big fields, good structures, and the ability to re-enter or play multiple flights is where the real upside is. Way better than busting once and being done.

If I somehow lock up a bigger bankroll or get in cheap, then sure, take a shot at the biggest stage. But from a realistic standpoint, I want volume and opportunities, not one swing.

More time at the table, more spots to build reads, more chances to catch momentum. That’s how you give yourself a real shot at something life changing.

Initially, my first wish was to be in Vegas, and then we progressed to being able to participate in one of the most prestigious poker tournaments in the world.

Certainly, I would use that to participate in as many tournaments as possible...
I mean, of course we want to play the main events, etc...
But since it's something very far from my reality, I would try to take it one step at a time (as we say here in Brazil) and try for some good prizes in tournaments with smaller buy-ins, such as those of 500 to 600 dollars, probably only playing NLHE...
If reality allowed something different, I would probably venture into other modalities!

Some good options:
Event #1: $550 Mini Mystery Millions
Event #10: $600 Deepstack No-Limit Hold’em
Event #25: $500 Freezeout No-Limit Holdem
Event #34: $500 COLOSSUS
Event #43: $800 8-Handed Deepstack No-Limi
...
And so it goes.

June 10th - WSOP Event #37: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E.
June 17th - WSOP Event #52: $3,000 Nine Game Mix
June 30th - WSOP Event #77: $2,500 Mixed Triple Draw Lowball

skip the world series of poker main event and spread the 10k across several smaller wsop events for more play time variety and better overall experience.

Play as many tournaments as possible, starting with the smaller ones, so you don't get stuck in one or a few tournaments during the week!

You are given $10,000, but the catch is that it can only be spent only on registering for WSOP events.

So, how would you use it?
Guess in that case someone keeps this 10k since my "wishlist" would be to stay the heck away from WSOP (and/or any other live-poker thing)

That's certainly fair. Live poker isn't for everyone. But maybe, in this fantasy of a deal, you live in a world where you enjoy live poker??

June 12 - $5,000 Seniors HiRoller
I would have played the first game aggressively and if I had been eliminated I would have gone a second time.

Do they have any WSOP events online? If so you could enter them, because there is nothing in "You are given $10,000, but the catch is that it can only be spent only on registering for WSOP events." which indicates that those events must be live ones. The poster may have meant to say that, but she didn't. ;)
