How do you deal with variance in online poker?

Variance is part of the game. If you can't handle it, you should be playing chess.

you just play and accept it without it, it's like poker, or you accept and play poker or quit poker, there's no other choice:I CAN'T laugh:
Sometimes there’s nothing you can do but laugh, because sometimes the variance is constantly unbelievable and completely unrealistic, but it does depend on the site. This is why I’d much rather play a live game, but they buyins tend to be much higher in live, so more of a risk to the bankroll management.

I try to play with lower buy ins and in some cases varying with cash games where the profit is lower but if played intelligently most of the time you can make a profit.
For anyone who thinks so, you can generally play only freerolls all your life and not worry about dispersion.🙂

In theory, if you are using proper bankroll management you should not have to "deal with variance".

If you are constantly having to move down you have probably over estimated your sustainable ROI and need to increase your number of buyins.

Hello, variance is part of poker, but when I lose a lot I try to play fewer and low-cost tournaments until I regain my confidence

I sometimes play live poker but I have the impression that in online poker many players have more courage to see the river than in live poker!😒😒😒😒

I just play freerolls or just take a break. Two options and both are pretty good. For me, poker is a hobby, and I don't need to force myself to do something I don't want 🙂

Play within my bankroll and know that if I made the right decisions, that is all I could do. If I made the wrong decisions, I try to understand so I can improve next time.

variance will always be there, what you have to do is always face it as a daily thing so that it does not affect you emotionally and in your decisions in a game session.

It has taken me years to get my head around it. I used to get so mad but it really does balance itself out over time and I also think its the most fun part of the game, when that one outer hits its either sickening or glorious either way it is exciting.

Variance is a factor that is always present during play, not just in poker but in all games, all sports and even in our daily life.

I think you just have to make the right decisions to move forward without giving too much importance to what happens in the short term.

You just have to laugh or you will cry. Here is my daily dose of variance thankfully it was a freeroll.

In such cases, there is only one option - rest from the game and recovery in a few days

I try to have as much patience as possible so as not to lose focus in the long term!!

I usually throw a few things and use some choice foul language!!! But that’s just me…lol

I find it strange you cant run the community cards several times in tournaments online. In live tournaments they do it all the time it seems like.

There are a lot of options for dealing with variance, but the best one for me is to quit straight away, call your friends up and go drink until you forget about it, so you can be fresh for playing tomorow

Most of the time I just shrug it off especially when playing freerolls. I can get miffed in more expensive games. If I'm in a particularly foul mood or maybe under the influence of alcohol, I sometimes tilt, which is always wrong under any circumstance. It's a human condition though.

You gotta stay patient and manage your bankroll right to ride out the swings without busting out. Great thing about variance is that you're gonna be sucking out some times too 😛

The most important thing is to always play the A game!
Variance is part of the game, if you haven't made a mistake, you don't have to think about it.
Accept it and train yourself mentally.
