I like both, but due to children and limited time, my current poker playing is focussed on online.

There are pros and cons to both. The advantages of live are that you can read tells better and recognise players. The disadvantage is that others are also watching how you play.

With online poker you get a lot of information from the statistics that are displayed for each player. It is also faster, you can play many more hands in the same amount of time.

I would only ever play online. You would have to pay me a lot of money to even enter the door to a crowded poker room and I would never ever sit down at a table and play. Being around a big bunch of people is not exactly the way I would want to spend my free time.

If I had to pick just one, I'd go with live poker. The pace is slower, but I enjoy the social aspect, picking up physical tells, and the overall atmosphere at the table. Online is great for volume and convenience, especially if you're trying to improve quickly, but live poker is just more enjoyable to me.

I prefer online poker. You get more volume, more game selection, and you don't have to travel. Plus, you can play multiple tables at once, which helps you improve much faster.

Like everything in poker it depends.

As posted just above online offers more volume, more game selection, no travel, can play multiple tables, online offers cheaper entry point and you don't have to put with some of the the worst kind of human beings live and in person. About the only upside to live poker is it's way softer vs online.

To be fair and honest, if I had a choice in the matter, I do love the live game better than online. The problem is in my area of the world, live games are pretty much dead for tournaments, and that's what I enjoy playing the most. So, I do prefer online at this moment, and even that is limited where I am just because that's the only choice I have in the matter. And what few live tournaments there are around here now are so far out of my price range, it's ridiculous. That's why I go to Vegas for a year and play as many tournaments as I do. It's the only time I can afford it, find games and play them.
