Over time I’ve heard the same things from many players, and that’s what I want to share below and of course my own opinion as well.I never deposited on 888 exactly because of these ridiculous withdrawal conditions. If a site accepts deposits without asking for anything, then it should also accept withdrawals to the same method without extra documents added later. On PokerStars and GGPoker you deposit with your card → you withdraw to your card, simple. With 888 it feels more like a way to make you give up your withdrawal. Really bad.It doesn’t feel right that 888 asks for additional documents only when you want to cash out, especially if the deposits were already approved with that exact card.If they really want to be fair with players who want to withdraw funds, then they should do it like GGPoker, where you simply add a separate fund password for withdrawals — different from the login password. That’s a normal and transparent system. But 888 doesn’t do this, because they clearly have reasons to make you give up your withdrawal. That’s why they lose so many potential depositors. Very bad.Too many players complain about these withdrawal conditions. That’s exactly why I won’t deposit any money until I’m sure I can withdraw without problems and without getting frustrated. If a site wants to be fair, withdrawals should be as simple as deposits — not a maze of extra requirements that appear only when you want your money.
Are you satisfied with 888 withdrawals? Did you have any issues or did everything work fine for you?

I tried to verify my account for a whole month and finally I succeeded. Now there are no problems.

Glad you finally got it sorted. For me the issue isn’t the verification, it’s that withdrawals are way more complicated than deposits. That’s why I opened the thread, to see how it went for others.

Were reading this ^ and by the looks of it there are definitely some (unwanted) patterns with cardchat aswell so ... 🤔

As for 888 then dont care anymore because some time ago they said in email that cant play there anymore or something which was quite ironic since they didnt even had licence to operate in our country first place.

But when i did use to play there then guess i had no problems withdrawing (and sometimes depositing) via Skrill for several years since it took them like 5+ years to finally ask for verification although i never completed it anyway.

I am glad that you say that, because many have had problems even at small amounts!

I am extremely lucky - for me 888Poker has been processing withdrawals within minutes for few years now.

It seems like 888 withdrawals can be very different from player to player. Some members have had them processed within minutes, while others struggled with verification, so I’d definitely want to know the withdrawal process before depositing.

Its pretty normal, that an account needs to be verified before making your first withdrawal. I did this on 888, ACR and also on PokerStars. I have not done it yet on GG Poker but has also never asked for a withdrawal. Its possible, you dont always have to do this, if you withdraw to "same method" and perhaps a small amount. But its not special for 888 to require verification in the form of a photo ID, proff of adress and perhaps a copy of the card used to deposit.

What is special for 888 is, that they now seem to regularly require "reverification" of accounts, that were already verified, and it also seem to be a routine requirement, that people need to send bank statements in top of all the other requirements. Moreover the whole (re)verification process is handled in a way, thats not super professional to say the least, since many people are reportedly asked for the same documents again and again.

I have written about my own experience in the 888 support thread, so I am not going to repeat it here. But while I got my money back, I still dont know, if my reverification was succesfull or not, and for that reason I will be reluctant to make a new deposit and play there again. While poker sites are not bank accounts, it is nice to know, that you will be able to get your money out in a reasonable amount of time, if you want to. And with 888 we cant really have that confidence any more unfortunately.

When you're verified, it works very well - sometimes as soon as same day withdrawals. I haven't had any problems with it.

This is 100% untrue, since they now commonly demand, that already verified accounts must be "reverified" by sending further documents like a bank statement. Its good for you, they did not do this to you (yet), but they have done it to a ton of other people including me.

Yesterday I made my first withdrawal from GG Poker, and I can confirm, that this is actually the case. When I opened my account there a few month ago, I identified myself with swedish Bank-ID and also answered some "know your customer" questions about source of income, expected monthly deposit, was I playing professionally or recreationally etc.

I deposited with Luxon Pay and withdrew to Luxon Pay with no further questions asked or documents required, and 3 hours later the money was already in my account. So yeah really this is, how it should be done, and 888 Poker are making it far to complicated for their customers to withdraw their own money. Not everyone, as we can see from this thread, but in far to many cases.

No problems on my end. I had to submit my verification twice over the course of two years or so, and it was easy to confirm. They also asked me to deposit again the second time, which I did, just to be able to withdraw. I made the deposit and then withdrew using the same Skrill method without any issues, and everything has been working fine ever since."

Knowing they try to make it difficult for people to withdraw their own money, it has led me to playing on there VERY little. I might play 100hands of 25nl 1x/week. If they had their sh1t together I'd be playing on there every single day as I do on other sites.
I don't know who managment is for 888 but they seem to know how to repeatedly make the worst possible decisions. It's almost as if they've been wanting to kill the poker traffic altogether. They invest in some streamers and put on a bunch of low end freerolls and then I'd guess they don't even pay out 1/10th of those freeroll winnings when those players attempt to WD (obviously I don't know this... but just sayin'... ). They invest money in wrong areas. Very few people take the site seriously these days. I'd be embarassed if they were signing my paycheque! I wouldn't be surprised to see them becoming another Lock Poker before a year is up. This sort of slow withdrawal b.s. is writing on the wall.

I agree with a lot of this, but I actually dont think, they are stalling withdrawals to avoid paying people back. For me its more likely, that they got hit with some fines due to one or more cases of money laundering or something. And then as a response to this they went overboard with verification and are also doing it in a incompetent way like in my case, which I wrote about in the support thread. But they did actually pay me in the end, which seem to be the common outcome.

But for sure its not being well managed. Even though I got my money back, I dont know, if my reverification was successfull, so I am not exactly thrilled about depositing and playing there again and risking having to go through the same circus again to withdraw. Which is a shame, because the software is quite good now, and the site needs some more traffic besides just freerolls and a few microstakes games.

I get what you mean. I also don’t think they’re trying not to pay, but their verification system is way too complicated and badly handled. The problem is that, no matter the reason, the player ends up dealing with the mess. If deposits are instant, withdrawals should be just as simple. That’s exactly why many people avoid playing there. It’s a shame, because the software itself is actually good.

Yes I agree. Sites should verify peoples identity, before they allow them to play, and not when they want to withdraw their money. I wrote about it here:

I’ve never had any issues with withdrawals at 888; in fact, they are very fast at processing payments—second only to Party Poker, which is the fastest of all the sites I play on.

I’ve been playing on 888 for several years now, and the only time they asked me for documents was when I opened my 888 account; I’ve made numerous withdrawals since then, and they’ve never asked for documents again.

You might be an exception.
I've played on 888 since 2007 (I actually signed up via Cardschat and played one of my first games on the site in a CC freeroll on there... I think it was $1,000 freeroll. I believe I took 2nd for $300). In 2007 & 2008 I played often on 888. Back then they had a 'Free $8' promo and had just 1,000's of new players signing up (and for sure some of those players probably signed up with 10 different names to keep getting another 'FREE $8' as it didn't seem to be policed too well). I played low stakes SNG's, some MTT's but also mass multi-tabling micro cash games. There was no table limit there so at times I would be playing 20+ tables at same time. I also did a challenge at one point and had a winrate of 50+bb/100 while mass multi-tabling! (it was SOFT!).

Eventually they put a limit on the number of tables you could play 🙁 so I played there much less often but I did play often enough that I made numerous Withdrawls & Deposits (dozens of them... maybe 50?). I also did a number of player-to-player transfers.

More recent times. I did a player-to-player transfer with a member of their stream team to stake him for a piece of his wsop Main Event entry. (3 or 4years ago?) I tried to make a Withdrawl after this and they actually hit me up with a 'need to verify your account' stipulation. Before doing so I attempted to stake my friend again but it didn't allow me to do so. I told him about it and he couldn't believe it. Then he informed me that they hit him up with a verification thing too (and meanwhile he WORKS FOR THEM... and they sign paycheques addressed to him each month). Ridiculous!

I didn't bother to verify after this because the place I'm currently living at is all inclusive... utilities, internet etc. is all included in the rent so there's nothing here addressed in my name. Knowing it'd be annoying I didn't bother to follow it up (plus our household has been one serious health issue after another and didn't need any more b.s. on top of it). BUT now things are a bit different and I'll be trying to 'verify' my 888 account and will see how fast it happens.
If they can make the process smooth & quick, they'll keep a customer (one that rakes a few $'s for them)... if not, that'll be the end of them for me. In the meantime I play very little on there... maybe 200 or 300 hands of cash once per week. Also, I purposefully don't play the freerolls there or take any of their 'bonus' stuff because I feel they are a shady operation and I do not trust them at all (have no doubt that some of the 'freerollers' accounts get shoved to the side when it comes to making withdrawls)

Mate, how long have you been playing on 888?
One?
Two?
Three?
More than five years?
And you haven’t withdrawn any money yet because you’re not sure you’ll be able to?
Have you actually read what you’ve written?
Unbelievable. Playing for years and not withdrawing any money because you’re afraid to make your first ten-dollar deposit.
There’s really no point in even commenting on this.

I think you do not understand or do not want to understand. Yes, and I will continue to play without making any deposits, until I am convinced that it will be possible to make withdrawals as I have deposited, without any other claims from the 888Poker platform! And everything I have won or will win satisfies my enjoyment of playing slots. Simple
right? Pleasure cost.

Probably a result of computerized systems? I dought, it was a human, who decided, they needed verification from one of their own streamers. I also dought, it was a human, who looked at my account history and decided, that "oh we better ask this guy to send us an account statement, even though he is already verified and identify himself with a digital ID, every time he log on". They are probably trying to use AI to safe labour costs, and it does not work well at all.

Thats a bit of a bummer, especially if your country dont have a population register or something, like we have here in Sweden. But I guess, a bank statement could do it, if it shows your name?

As I wrote in another thread, I find it very wrong, that sites have no issues with people playing or depositing but only require verification, when they try to withdraw. As OP wrote:

It was the 'Wild West' back pre 2010 with online poker. A player didn't need to 'verify' on any site to be able to play, deposit & withdrawal their funds.... and more often back then players used 'moneybookers' or 'Skrill'. But players also used bank draft, credit card, etc.

The staff handling deposits/withdrawals on 888 didn't even know the names of the 888 pros (one dept. sends to > another dept.)

I've never run an online poker site (obviously) but there have been many times that I've felt like I could jump into it with no prior knowledge and still do a far better job than 888 has done. They've ruined their poker offerings imo.

I guess, I never had this experience, because sites were already licensed in Denmark and Sweden, when I started playing 10 years ago, and so verification was a government requirement. ACR is unregulated, and I dont think, they ever asked me for verification, but I choose to do it anyway. It was really easy to upload some documents in the cashier, and it took them like 24 hours to approve it.
