Note: That did not happens to myself! I saw it on X (here). Just sharing with community!
Note #2: Sharing this to raise awareness about concerning withdrawal practices on ACR Poker regarding sports betting action and forced rake requirements.

Hey everyone, I wanted to share this alarming case involving ACR Poker and a player who got trapped with a massive balance after a winning weekend in their sportsbook.

According to the player's detailed breakdown, they deposited $30,000 to bet on football. After hitting some winning bets (Giants, Chiefs, Bills), their balance climbed to $92,000.

The Core Issue: A "Freeroll" Setup

  • When you lose: ACR keeps your money instantly, no questions asked.
  • When you win: ACR limits your sportsbook action and refuses to process your withdrawal unless you pay an astronomical amount of direct rake first.
In this specific case, ACR is demanding $15,493.45 in direct rake (meaning money paid out of winning poker pots) just to unlock the withdrawal of their own funds. The player calculates this would require hundreds of hours of grinding poker and effectively hand over half of their initial deposit just to get their money back.

Shifty Terms & Arbitrary Numbers

  • ACR is citing vague Terms & Conditions, but the math doesn't even line up with what they claim. They jumped between 10% of deposits to 10% of deposits + wins, yet somehow arrived at an unexplained, arbitrary figure of over $15,000.
  • Support has failed to provide a clear breakdown of how this number was calculated.

Why This Matters

If you keep a bankroll on ACR—even if you primarily play poker—behavior like this from management and the WPN network is a massive red flag. They are essentially running a system where they take your losses immediately, but trap your winnings behind impossible playthrough/rake walls.

Has anyone else experienced this kind of "rake wall" on sports or poker withdrawals recently?

ACR is an extremely player friendly site and me personally i had only good experience there with both withdrawals and customer support.

Pretty sure there is more to this. People quickly go online these days and scream "scam". Before i would deposit 30k somewhere i would for sure get information from support about every detail first.

Honestly wouldn't repost things like this if u dont know the exact details.

I never put my money in acr... Just play freerolls and play with the money I won
I don't trust a room who tell you that you have to generate a rake to withdraw your own money.

Well let's assume I believe some rando with no evidence on a site like that for a moment

.... all poker sites have this rake requirement on deposits in one way or another,

if you just want to make sports bets go to a sports bet site only👍

Well ok, I swear I just commented on this.. did you post the same thing twice?.... or am I finally losing it🤷

Why have you posted this subject 8 times?

. You can just make a poll when you create a new thread.

I mostly grind MTTs. I do spin slots and make very few bets using ACR Sportsbook.

I feel the playthrough requirements should apply whether you are grinding poker MTTs or cash games, betting on sports, or making casino bets.

The sports bettor is betting only on sports, so the playthrough should apply to the sports bet(Like almost every other sports betting site)

Its a good idea to read the T&C before depositing a significant amount of money like $30k to any gambling site. ItalianIce posting this on X might think, these terms are unreasonable, but he accepted them, when he opened an account and deposited. The reason, why the rake requirement is $15.493,45 and not just $3.000 is almost certainly 17.1.2, where I have highlighted the relevant text.

Since I am a poker player, these terms have never been a problem for me. If I dont intent to play tournaments for at least $500+$50 in fees before requesting a withdrawal, then I dont deposit $500. Simple as that. All my withdrawals on ACR have been processed within a few hours. But if you are a professional sportsbetter like this ItalianIce guy, they do not want your business, and you should place your bets somewhere else.

17.1 POKER-FIRST PLATFORM MANDATE & CASHOUT RAKE REQUIREMENT

17.1.1 PRIMARY BUSINESS MANDATE:
ACR Poker provides the Sportsbook exclusively as an auxiliary recreational amenity for active poker players.

17.1.2 MANDATORY 10% POKER RAKE REQUIREMENT: All deposits and sportsbook returns are subject to generating a minimum 10% poker rake (or paid tournament fees) relative to cumulative deposits prior to withdrawal approval.

17.1.3 NON-EQUIVALENCE: Sportsbook handle and wagering volume do not generate poker rake and do not count toward fulfilling this cashout requirement.

"Sportsbook returns" mean any money won from placing a sports bet and does not include the money spend making the bets in the first place. So apparently he cashed for $120k making sports bets but spend $58k making those bets for a net profit of $62k. Perhaps it can be argued, that its a little unclear, if the rake requirement is on net profit or total wins. But even if it was net profit, the rake requirement would still be $9.2k. Which is still a lot of poker to play, if you mainly signed up for sportsbetting. So the main issue is, he did not read the T&C at all before depositing this huge amount of money and placing very large sportsbets.

Its not at all impossible, if you are playing poker. It just mean, that you can not wager more money on sportsbetting, than you do in the poker section. As the T&C say: "ACR Poker provides the Sportsbook exclusively as an auxiliary recreational amenity for active poker players." You might disagree with this policy and find it bad, but for anyone knowing about it, it should not cause any problems.

This is the third time within a week or so, that we heard a story about someone depositing a very large amount of money onto a unregulated offshore gambling site and then facing problems with withdrawals. And to be honest its difficult to have much sympathy with any of these stories. The other two both look like potential cases of whitewashing via offshore crypto casinos. And if this case if the person had experience from other sites, as he write on X, then what was he doing on ACR Poker, and why did he deposit so much?

One possible explanation is, that he is engaged in placing opposite bets on the same match on different sites, when sites dont agree on the odds. Like maybe its a tennismatch, and one site give you 2,4 times your money back for player A winning, while the other give you 1,8 times your money for player B winning. Then you can wager $10.000 on each site and either win $4.000 or lose $2.000, which is very profitable in the long run, since the true chance of the underdog winning is almost certainly more than 1:3.

ACR Poker dont have sportsbetting as the main activity or expertice, so they are likely trying to protect themselfes from practices like this by having their poker rake generation requirement. And in this case they were smarter than the player posting on X as ItalianIce, since he failed to even read the T&C before depositing $30k and wagering $120k on sportsbets.

This is a poker forum not a sportsbetting forum. And while its obviously important to know about this policy, if a poker player is also into sportsbetting, there is nothing paticularly "alarming" about this case. And nor is there any need to portray this player, who did not even share this story here himself, as an innocent victim being scammed by a scummy site, which everyone should stay away from. Its basically a case between him and ACR, and maybe he can make some sort of deal with them to get some of his money out. I honestly dont even care.

I imagine it’s a pretty large sum of money—hence the withdrawal issues! You’d run into similar problems on other sites too—like 888poker, for instance. It’s a lesson for the future: you shouldn't keep such a large balance! Good luck

Been a thing forever on every poker site. Someone really should have done some research....plus have read or have had a lawyer read the TOS before depositing that much on any poker or gambling site. They should also NEVER deposit that kind of money on an unregulated site. If they're going to gamble at that level(90k) they have plenty of options for regulated sportsbooks.

Cheers!!!

Exactly. To be honest I have also not always read the complete T&C of a site before making my first deposit, but I have also never deposited more than $500-600 into a new site, and in some cases it was more like $100-200. Depositing $30k without carefully reading and understanding the T&C is a bit like buying a used car for $30k from a private seller without checking, if it has a mortgage on it from the bank, that lend him the money to buy it 3 years earlier. Its wildly irresponsible.

I guess, that depends on, where they live. Also in many cases part of the regulation is deposit limits, that would make it impossible to deposit that much to a new site, unless its done over several month. For instance the most, I can deposit on GG Poker, is around $1k per month. So for me it would take 30 month of repeated deposits to get to $30k. And by then I would hopefully have found the time to read and understand the T&C.

Regardless of where one lives one should NEVER deposit that kind of money on an unregulated site. Just because plenty of people are stupid enough to do it doesn't make it a good idea. Better to not play at all then lose 90k or even risk losing 90k. I've deposited $50 and played at ACR in the past even knowing full well ACR isn't regulated....never had issue. Played cleared the rake and ended up withdrawing near $750 no issue. Never played there again. Depositing 90k is completely crazy and insanity too me.

Cheers!!!

I had the same error messages and then posted duplicates. It's a bug but hopefully resolved soon. 🙂

I went ahead and cleaned up the duplicates but kept your mentions in the posts as I didn't want to alter too much.

If you play stupid games, you get stupid results.

All this could have been avoided if they read the TOS.

Casinos are not your friends they exist to separate you from your money.

With all the AI advancements and free sports arbitrage software, sportsbooks are quick to get rid of players they think are gaming the system.

The guy should go and play some high roller poker tournaments and maybe bink one? Instead of complaining about a term of service after he made a lucky bink on sports betting.

Well if someone wants to play high and his account is completely verified then i see no issue depositing large amounts. There are people out there who play up to NL10k and for them the amount mentioned is not even 10 stacks. They can not do anything with a 50 $ deposit.

So i have to partly disagree on that. But its certainly not a good idea to deposit large sums if ur account isnt verified and without knowing what conditions for certain games and withdrawals there are.

There are a lot more details needed for the story in OP like all emails and late deposit/withdrawal history. Im actually still wondering what the intention was to repost this here on cardschat? Me personally I will 100% continue to play on ACR and i side with them as long as there are no more details and evidence.

Partly-disagree all you want but if a site is unregulated they can whatever the hell they want with your money and there's exactly NOTHING you can do about it. Well poker players and gamblers aren't the smartest bunch of people as whole. One the most popular and best high stakes player in the world after all said "more rake is better" which is one of the most stupidest things ever said in poker. Then also plenty of poker players stupid enough to loan other players and gamblers large sums of money knowing they already owe thousands and millions they'll never pay back.

List is almost endless of stupid and moronic things poker players and gamblers do.

Cheers!!!

I said i partly disagree with it. U maybe want to carefully reread my post.

Someone whos account is verified, has a large deposit limit and doesnt do anything stupid can easily deposit a large sum, even on an unregulated site. There are people who play up to NL10k or large tournament series how do u think they are going to fund their games? If it really would be that risky u would hear such storys nonstop but u dont.
