I don't think that decision is harsh at all. That guy is the most annoying person I've ever seen.
I don't know about anyone else who should be banned, but I don't know everybody!

This decision is welcolmed. The guy has been an abusive idiot for years and finally he got what he deserved, he shows zero respect to opponents, tourney directors so he reaps what he sows.

He got banned in 2025, but I cant find any articles comfirming, he is banned this year as well. Do you have a source for this?

Make it a lifetime ban, add any jackass like him instantly to the list and any POS caught cheating whether online or live instantly makes the list. The 5%-10%(estimate/guess) of the population that's like all this trash isn't needed and poker would be better off without them all......hell this will likely even help grow the game as the avg non-poker player wants nothing to do with trash like this and goes outta their way to avoid them. They certainly will NEVER spend their hard earned money to be near them.

It was orginally intended to be a ban for 2025 alone ..BUT
while the wsop's sporting penalty itself was not designated as a lifetime or multi-year ban from the tournament organization, Kassouf must formally appeal to Caesars Entertainment management to have his corporate property ban reversed.
If Caesars refuses to lift the trespass order, he will be unable to play in any 2026 WSOP events.
As of the start of the 2026 tournament cycle, there have been no confirmed sightings or announcements confirming that his ban was successfully overturned.

I don't really see that happening...an apology from Kassouf. So yeah if the obnoxious little guy never apologizes it might very well be a self inflicted lifetime ban

I think it's hilarious there was a main event champion getting assistance in real time in 2024...,

and 2 guys who got caught colluding and still got to keep the money in 2025...

but hey there was also a rude annoying guy, let's ban him...... priorities 😅👍

If the ruling was based on repeated violations (delaying the game, ignoring floor instructions), then a ban is understandable because WSOP has to keep the event playable for everyone else. In this Doug Polk poker video, some of the rulings mentioned weren’t nice, but tbh the amount of talking he does is never ending, so it’s not surprising things escalated.

I think last year he was acting a bit erratic, looked like he was on something. Or maybe he didn't take his regular meds. He actually threatened the people at his table and he was behaving weird. When he lost all his chips he just wouldn't leave and he kept running his mouth. They had to escort him out. He wasn't entertaining at all, he was just a pitiful show to watch. He was out of control. casinos are private property and you can be very deep in a tournament, they are entitled to show you the door if you don't abide by their rules. And although he didn't break any written rules I think after tolerating his antics they decided his behaviour was too much of a hassle. He looked like he was having a mental break down.

Maybe the problem here is not, that Kassouf got banned in 2025, but that no action was taken in those other cases?

If he is not banned this year, he should be. He makes Phil Helmuth look like Mr. Nice Guy. Poker needs more players like the late Doyle Brunson.

I rewatched episodes of the world series of poker from the 2000s. Many players, including ordinary people, behaved emotionally and unconventionally during the games. This is not a reason to treat them badly.

I think it was right to withdraw him from the tournament that year, ban for a bit, but can let him back I'm and warn him if he does it again, banned for good then. He is funny to watch rile other players up and got some funny phrases 9 high LIKE A BOSS!! 😂

Honestly the antics of Kassouf put Martins behaviour really into perspective for me.
He's growing on me kinda ...😅
Yes he is loud, but so is an entire room of pokerplayers.
