I believe the main motivation for this is to allow PokerStars poker players to have the option of losing their money earned playing Poker on Betfair without having to transfer funds between platforms.

There are already casino and sports sections in the PokerStars client, where punters can donk away their money.

Doesn't mean there will be no other rewards inplemented but I guess the "valuable" chests are history for you
The chests do have value - maybe not the greatest - but value all the same.

Yes they may implement "something" else (who knows: complementary cocktails and annual Xmas parties for UK players😆) but the statement they are removing Pokerstars rewards as part of the changeover was correct - I'm not sure what that article you link had to say on the matter (nothing from what I can see).

Half right
You won't get nothing but a rakeback system instead
PokerStars phased out its traditional randomized "Chest" reward system in favor of a direct, transparent cash-back (rakeback) model. While this shift was implemented globally in phases, it had a particularly strong impact in the UK due to regulatory conditions and player feedback.

Actually sounds better than the chests 🤷🏼‍♂️

Where are you getting that from? (Source?)
It's phrased in past tense "PokerStars phased out" - sounds like an old article at best and nothing to do with the changeover in question.

Again something new maybe introduced but the Pokerstars Rewards are going as part this changeover - no debate about it.

I've just "closed my account " there. It was bad enough getting rid of paid tournaments and issuing tickets, whilst STILL taking your money. Imagine if you bought into a live multicash tournament and all you won was a speclative ticket. Noone would seriously consider that.
They are free to make their changes, but so am I.
Only signed up during the covid years, so that I could keep in touch with my poker friends via the Home Games options.
I will check if I can still login. Never trust websites who say "Your account will be permanently deleted...."

Since poker stars has moved to Betfair I can't get Poker tracker 4 to work.

Has anyone got any information how i can get poker tracker 4 to work on Betfair

Had to read that multiple times to understand what you are complaining about but i figured u are upset they stopped freerolls and now issue power path tickets? Their power path is pretty valuable and they dont owe anyone free stuff

Are you sure you really understand how all of this works? Noone is forcing you to participate in power path satellites. Normal, paid tournaments are still available to everyone on the site, unlike what u claimed.

Doubt they will miss on much rake after ur departure so no real loss for them., unlike what u think.

So what exactly would have been the problem with still having an account on PokerStars/Betfair? If you dont want to play, you can just withdraw your funds and refrain from logging on apart from a few times a year to basically say "hey I am still here". This is, what I have been doing with 888 Poker for the past 5 years apart from a 2 week period recently, where I played there again inspired by a temporary reintroduction of SnGs.

Now we might see you back in the forum a year or two from now crying about, what a terrible site PokerStars is, because they will not let you reopen the account, you asked them to close, because you were mad at them for absolutely no good reason. In you were losing money in their casino section or in cash games, thats not really their fault, and you could just have used their responsible gambling program to take a break.

Not sure what you're talking about, so just stick to the original question or don't post on here. There's no need to be rude to me either. I don't criticise anyone's choices or actions.
The same goes for your "sunz of beaches friend".

Thank you.

I am just trying to warn others about making the same kind of irrational decision, that you just made. There are many examples here of people, who asked to have their account closed and then later regretted it. This is after all a poker forum, and permanently excluding yourself from playing on the best poker site is not a particular smart decision, if you want to play poker. If you feel butt-hurt by me saying so, I can live with that.

That's a poor response. Noone isn't going to close their account because of what I'm doing as I haven't encouraged anyone to do so.

I'm sure other people are not beyond thinking for themselves what's best for them, that they need you to be rude to me, in order to stop them doing something they might regret later. Really?

If you read my posts properly, you will see I only joined PokerStars because of covid and so that I could continue to play live with friends.
I no longer need to do that and I'm not a big fan of their now structure or merging with or into another betting site. That's my reasons for leaving. My choice.

I think we've made our points, so just leave it at that.

Yep between CC, Reddit, 2+2, and Twitter I see it 2-4 times every dam day. It's dependable as death and taxes at this point.

Cheers!!!

Yes very true. And those who announce their departure the loudest are very often the ones who also cry later the loudest that stars doesn't let them back and what a terrible site they are. If you dont have a responsible gambling problem then its really an irrational decision.

Also not really get why this member wants to try to still login to see if his account really was deleted 😅 for what? Is stars suddenly a non-trust organization around here? And i mean even when they deleted the account, there will be for sure still personal data saved somewhere on their servers.

But to each their own i guess 🤷

Ah so maybe technically Pokerstars has moved to Betfair, but in poker terms Betfair, Paddypower, and Sky poker have moved into the pokerstars poker site, so nothing actually changes for your pokerstars account, only for you Betfair etc account, which is now in the pokerstars player pool!
Existing PokerStars UK accounts have been migrated to the Betfair technical platform, under the new name PokerStars on Betfair:

The problem is that betting sites have just been banned in Brazil, although for now this is not yet definitive.
The problem is if this becomes definitive...
Then I wonder, will this affect Pokerstars here in Brazil? 😕

Only because their name is Betfair doesn't mean that this has anything to do with betting sites in brasil, lol.

Thread is about Pokerstars and Betfair uniting in the UK.

That's right, so you can take your opinions off me and debate the actual thread.

And even then there is a middling option called self exclusion, which you can select from inside the poker client without contacting support, and which does not get your account permanently deleted. You can select a specific period from 24 hours up to 6 month. Then you will have access to your account again, when the "cool down" period is over.

Or you can select "until further". Then you have to contact support to have your access reopened, and presumably they will review your cashier and gaming history to see, if this is socially responsible. Maybe ask you some questions. And the earliest time, you can do this, is after 12 month. So the only reason to ask for an account closure is, if you are 100% sure, you never want to play again, but you are scared, you might change your mind.

If someone has a serious gambling problem, they would want their account to be deleted, so they dont plunge back in again in a weak moment. And sites are obliged to do this. In Sweden we also have a nationwide self exclusion register, so people dont get tempted to open an account on a new site and resume their problem gambling.

As I understand it, it is only sportsbetting, that has been banned. So you should still have access to poker sites. If not this would be a bit of a disaster for PokerStars, who rely heavily on the market in Brasil.
