Hi,

I recently came 2nd in the home games conducted by jason Somerville and there was a added prizepool of $50 for the second place. He was trying to transfer the money but he said he was getting a error while doing that. Can someone help me why this is happening? I already sent a mail to PS and still awaiting response. Thanks!

Support should be able to assist with this, as it's difficult to provide an answer without more information.

PokerStars type in google.

@papac, you can play in the homegames and playmoney from the .com version, its actually what we typically recommend when it comes to league etc because it enables you to use tracking software to be able to review hands and stats on the competition. So no reason you shouldn't be able to continue using the .com version it just won't allow you to play any real money games.

I have a technical question (or at least for me it is). I only play on Stars, and it might be different from site to site, so therefor this is a Stars related question. So here goes....

When does the software stack the deck. Are all 52 cards stacked before a hand is dealt or does it do it as it puts cards on the flop.

I remember learning that to randomize, the computer uses the clicker or something like that, and then does a semi randomization from that.
If that is still how a random hand is generated then it depends on at what time it is generated.
I the stack is made before the hand starts it does not matter how long time I use deciding etc., the flop, turn and river will be the same. But if the cards are randomized as the program needs another card, then it all depends on how long I take to call or do stuff.

I mostly think about this when I have folded in a 3 way pot and I then see the flop or turn etc. If I see that I should have called or it was a good fold and I did not miss anything, then I think at the same time about the question I have here. If I had called instead of folded the timing would have been different and the cards not the same anyway, unless the deck is stacked before the hand starts.

Hope you or someone else can answer this as the question often pops in to my head.

Grindabod, I believe most sites randomly determine each card as you go but pokerstars is unique in that they determine the entire 52 card deck before starting. I feel like this question was pretty recently discussed on this forum. Perhaps a search is in order.

This should be a difficult question to answer, to make absolutely sure we would have to know directly who developed the system or a very good analyst.

Stars does not use, and is one of the only one's I know of that doesn't offhand, a constant shuffle. Once the cards are randomized they are set for the hand versus a constant shuffle that is used on many other sites whereby the flop could be different based on if you fold or not for example so the rabbit hunt and seeing the flop have no bearing on what you would have hit if you hadn't folded because it would probably have been different.

To add to the simplistic approach of the clicker use for randomization, that could play a role depending on the site and how their RNG is setup however in such these days they would likely be using a much more sophisicated seed for the randomization, like an atmospheric pressure for example and it could be even seeding for the seed for extra layers of security for the RNG process. Stars uses a true hardware RNG as far as I recall from having read many technical posts from one of our members/mods on the subject.

so it's been a while but once again the lobby has reset itself as if i've just downloaded it for the 1st time, all filters reset, bet sliding options reset, absolutely everything had to be reset up manually and to be honest it can be quite annoying. do you know what causes this or how to make sure this doesn't happen again?

Ikerakos, you can but only if you register for the game on a computer. There is no home games tab in the mobile App. This omission is something I'd love to see pokerstars change as you shouldn't be limited in when an where you play home games.

settings>global>communication preferences and there you can turn off what notifications you don't want to be hassled with
