Screenshot 2026 05 05 112227

Not sure of the exact date but it has been at least 20 years since I started playing there, I found this old screenshot from 2007 when I won the chance to play Dario Minieri in a headsup match ( he kicked my butt btw ) so I know I joined before that.
HUstars

Back in those days I played mostly on Full Tilt and only played Stars mostly for their SNG's ( they were really soft and you could pretty much fold your way to a cash)
But then Black Friday happened in the US and overnight my $700 USD bankroll that was on Full Tilt was gone and needless to say I was devastated, I had built that bankroll playing freerolls and grinding micro stakes without ever making a deposit and had no way at that time to replace it until Pokerstars came along and saved the day

They had my loyalty from that day forward until now, I don't see any reason they are including Ontario in this Fandule merger, we were told that the courts have said we can rejoin the Global Player Pool. but Stars seems to be ignoring this for some reason, so I guess it's so long for now as I have no interest in signing up for and an account on Fandule.

Not saying never but so long for now, it's been a blast....

When Flutter took over it was just a matter of time. Really sad to see how Stars went from the gold standard to outdated dookie.

It's sad, but I see that a lot of people are deciding to resign.

Now to add to the issue they are making us verify our accounts all over again just to withdraw a few bucks, guess I will wait for them to mail a cheque:sleep:

Not sure why it would matter so much, that the site is now called FanDuel instead of PokerStars? Its just a different name for, what was already not the international PokerStars site due to local Ontario regulation.

Why did you lose your fulltilt bankroll? I never lost a dime. I still miss that site... it was the best site I've ever played on still to this day.

Let me know when they reduce the ludicrous long late registration times and introduce some decent tournaments. Otherwise I will stay with Party Poker.

People can be strange man idk. I wish I could get into the FanDuel/Pokerstars player pool. Likely going to be softer then the Pokerstars International site and softer then what he's been playing since poker Black-friday. I mean with all them sports bettors who knows how many but they'll some who are going to gamble money away their $$$ without a clue how to really play. OP should really think this thru first no reason to miss out on some easier money.

Man I miss that old Pokerstars lobby. Brings back some good memories and good vibes. What an amazingly great time to playing online poker that was.

Cheers!!!

Because they are forcing us to open a FanDuel account to play on an I Poker skin which is crap software from the research I have done.

I did get it back eventually when Pokerstars stepped in but it took a while of not knowing if and when we would see any money.

Maybe if they allow Ontario to join the US Player pool I will reconsider.

That is unlikely to be any softer or easier. The +EV move is to spend 2-4 mins making a Fan Duel/Pokerstars account and get to taking them stupid sports bettors money. But to each their own I guess....some people just can't spot +EV moves. Hell I was able register an account and get verified in less then an hour total. Fastest verification I've seen yet. Not sure why they allowed me to even make an account thou as I'm not Ontario so they wouldn't let me play.

As for the possibly crap software who knows you haven't played to know for a fact it's crap. I certainly wouldn't take someone else's word on that.

Cheers!!!

I'm not in Ontario so can't play which why I'm surprised they even allowed me to create an account and verified it :ROFLMAO:. One doesn't have to make millions for the money he makes to be useful that's just a silly stupid comment.

Just saying man poker doesn't offer much easy money now-days and it ain't getting any easier. There's some easy money sitting right there. To each their own thou.

Cheers!!!

The main objective of the migration seems obvious: liquidity. The expectation is that, by combining the PokerStars brand, the new platform will result in a larger number of participants and more substantial prizes.

I dont understand this negativity either. Like are there really that many better options for someone living in Ontario? And if not then why not at least give it a chance and see for yourself, what the software and general playing experience is like?

I don't get it either. I went and made an account and got verified(in less then an hour) soon as I heard the news about the change from these forums. All for not because I'm not from Ontario which wasn't clear one needed to be when it was first posted here. Not soon after that news that it was Ontario only came out. But I kinda figured that when I couldn't deposit.

I'd get if one tried the software didn't like it our it sucked. But to not even bother doesn't make sense. Specially when it'd be pretty easy to target the sports bettors cause he already knows who all the regular Ontario players are.

Cheers!!!

Those were the glory days. Now there are fewer and fewer players, fewer and fewer regions and countries on PokerStars.

Canadians were able to continue playing after Black Friday, along with withdraw funds from account. A few mos. after Black Friday is when Fulltilt was no longer able to continue and was taken over by Stars. There was never a time I wasn't able to get my fund$ from Fulltilt. For folks from USA it was obviously a different story.
