I've been looking around for a relatively inexpensive GTO Solver/Trainer and by chance came across Octopi Poker. I've just started looking at it and it seems intuitive, full featured, well supported with how-to videos and relatively inexpensive. I did a search here at Cardschat and only found one mention:

Are you guys aware of it and/or have you used it? If so, I'd be very interested in hearing your opinions.

Here's an overview vid from a year ago that I just finished watching, which apparently is age-restricted. I guess they take their ethical responsibility seriously.

... and of course their website:

While their pricing does seem more 'reasonable' compared with others like GTOWizard, they do also have a free "Community" level which gives you access to the Pre-flop Solver Sims):

... and the trainer which does actually allow you to do the complete (pre & Post-flop) hand with 'pop-up' access to the relevant Sim table for each specific pair of cards (e.g., 8d9d) played in the hand. The example below shows that I made two mistakes on the river because I wasn't willing to give up my bottom pair on the river - sound familiar?

It's all browser based so will work on any computer. So far I'm finding the interface to the most intuitive and user friendly of all the ones I've experimented with so far. Caveat - I'm totally new to solvers.

I'm liking this so much I decided to take the next step and try out the "Full Octopi Poker Pro Access for 3 days" free trial. It's not that hard a decision since this trial is 100% free, and does not require a credit card so obviously does not lapse into a full paid subscription if you don't like it and forget to cancel.

If you're interested it's at: https://octopipoker.ai/account/subscription/plans. FYI, you will have to sign up in order to access this trial. But again, no credit card required. The trial starts instantly.

And it gives you a countdown timer so you know exactly how long you have left on the free 3 days:

One thing I'm finding about Octopi Poker, other than the usefulness and ease of use of their tools, is that they have a lot of great support features. One is the AI Assistant - George.

There are a few threads on Cardschat debating the value of AI. From what I've seen so far, George is VERY helpful and knowledgeable.

Am really enjoying my three days of free Pro membership, spending most of my time working through the three included courses:

Being new to solvers, these courses are a big boost to my confidence in using the tool.

They also have something called the Vault, where they upload hands from live games and compare the professional players' actions with the solver sims in the same circumstances.

You can watch a video of the actual live hand then run though the full simulation with all the decision tables right there to compare.

Very Cool!

You're very welcome. I'm loving experimenting with Octopi Poker. I much prefer the interface over GTOWizard or any of your other competitors for that matter.

Here's an interesting bit of info about Octopi. I got an e-mail from them a few weeks back that said the CEO actually does read all feedback they get from customers, and even potential customers like me. I thought "yeah, right". How many times have I seen that kind of promotional, never in the real world, boiler plate promise?

BUT, fast forward to yesterday (Saturday), I was having an issue so I sent an email to Octopi Support. Lo and behold within an hour the CEO replied. Did I mention this was a Saturday! She and I continued corresponding through the day yesterday and today (Sunday) on that and other aspects of my journey into the world of GTO Poker and the Octopi Poker solver. Now that's the sign of a company that is really trying to earn my business, and it's working!

My post above about e-mail support notwithstanding, I'm finding that Octopi support on Discord (their main support mechanism) is very responsive!

The only issue (?) is I had to register and learn how to navigate a whole new chat forum. But I guess that's what keeps us young, ... or stressed out, depending on your resistance to change threshold.

I'm really beginning to appreciate the "Vault" at Octopi, where they upload real hands played by high stakes players. It's cool to just sit back and watch hand after hand to get a good feel for how they play.

I was expecting a Battle Royale on this hand, but much to my surprise AQs folded to KK's 4-bet. It wasn't the Octopi Poker GTO move, and certainly not something I would expect to see (at the lower stakes where I reside), but with real hands considered, I think it was the right move.
