Though generally unqualified to critique the play of a thinking player, which it appears you are, I will leave my 2 cents.
I agree with other posters who have remarked on your raise sizing—it was a little on the small side.
Since the 3-bet jam was from such a small stack, I wouldn't much consider its implication. This is despite the meta consideration that a jam behind a raise with several callers with virtually no fold equity logically implies one of two things: a very strong holding or a lower suited holding that isn't likely to be blocked and is getting the "right price."
The limp-4-bet implied a middle to high ranking pocket pair holding. Because you were holding AQ, it was less likely that the 4-bettor was holding aces or queens. So, in all likelihood, it felt like 77-JJ (or KK).
With this in mind, it really depends on how you like to approach the early stages of a tournament such as this. If you prefer to build a stack fast, I would not fault a 5-bet all-in. If you prefer to reduce your variance (which it appears you do), your play was perfectly sound, as you were likely flipping, at best (for the side pot).
The other callers in late position also posed a risk, further supporting your decision to fold.
