Of course I would not go head to head with the table largest stack with only marginal hands, but if I had a strong starting hand, I have no problem going for it.Kashmir said:Are you a player that takes on the big stack at your table? I always feel like no body try's to tackle the big stack with playable hands when they are deep into the game.
That's the thing that's not what the original poster said. He said why people aren't going at the big stack. When the hero tries. The whole table all of the sudden start calling you out of position inflating the pot. If they're scared to lose the tournament then why call op??SpanRmonka said:The reason players don't is because its very poor strategy to risk your tournament life against the big stack, so you have to hit the board well to risk this, unless they are crazy loose. But even then, the risk is not necesarily worth it
That's the thing they have position and everything but when someone raises it ug all of the sudden they just call wide af out of position. Instead of raising wide in position. They would prefer inflating the pot instead of taking initiative. That doesn't make sense. That gives the big stack all the edge against everybody. If they're able to raise fold or call whenever and with whatever they want. While everyone have watch out for everyone else's. Because everyone else is worried about inflating the pot.Lodestone said:Depends on positions, pay jumps and how wide their range is. Generally speaking you have more to lose than they do so you have to pick your spots better and that often means staying out of the way.
Just play in your regional games. Don't play in the big softwares. They have a lot more pros and grinders on there. The only bad thing is that you don't get the same deals as big ones tho😭WrongUsername said:ya they seem unbeatable especially at ggpoker the biggest scambag site in the world.
Exactly. So why TF is nobody doing it?... That is what the original poster is trying to get at.blackstore0007 said:Yes- big stacks can bully because others fear busting . But they’re often wide, so we need to pick good spots and fight back.
they can double up u real quick too 😉
I don't get it.Emily Trott said:Always, and for the same reason that bank robber Willy Sutton gave when asked why he robbed banks. "Because that's where the money is." 😉

Just FYI you can reply to multiple messages at the same time using the quote function. It really helps with readability.Kirbs69 said:That's the thing that's not what the original poster said. I was answering the question posed by the original poster, "Are you a player [with a playable hand] that takes on the big stack at your table? "Kirbs69 said:I don't get it.
Sorry I still don't get it. Was it supposed to be funny or am I supposed to take it as face value...Emily Trott said:I was answering the question posed by the original poster, "Are you a player [with a playable hand] that takes on the big stack at your table? "
In other words since they have a lot of chips, they are going to give me the best chance of doubling mine.
The OP said none of this at all, you're just making stuff up!Kirbs69 said:That's the thing that's not what the original poster said. He said why people aren't going at the big stack. A lot of people believe that when they are the big stack by a large margin that they can bully the other players into folding. If I have a playable hand I have a really good chance of enticing them into trying to bully me by making a large bet or raise. Hopefully it is more than my stack so when I call them, if I win, I will have doubled my stack.Kirbs69 said:Sorry I still don't get it. Yeah no he didn't say this. But that is what he is trying to get at. Because every table does this.SpanRmonka said:The OP said none of this at all, you're just making stuff up!
He did not mentioning loads of players calling OOP at any stage.....
Ok I understand stood that part. But the cute part not so much lmaoEmily Trott said:A lot of people believe that when they are the big stack by a large margin that they can bully the other players into folding. Yes, my initial post was meant to be cute.
Stick to whatever strategy brought you this deep into the game (tournament)!Kashmir said:Are you a player that takes on the big stack at your table? I always feel like no body try's to tackle the big stack with playable hands when they are deep into the game.
