Congratulations! You noticed exactly the moment when you started playing on impulse and created a limit for yourself. A lot of people double their bankroll and return everything soon after, you're on the right track, GL

There's a suspicious dialogue you are have here. About freerolls: in most cases they don't cost the time you spend on them
Im starting to feel the same. I played them to get expience but no cost. Howevever it is starting to cost me my mental health and tilt! Play is extreme and mind boggling! So I am wondering why I am putting myself thru it? I get to angry from playing them. I feel sorry for my husband when he hears me bitching at my laptop and asks me whats wrong, I am usually not nice with the answer!🙃🤨

It’s a chance to practice for free, and sometimes it’s even free money — if you’ve got spare time, why not?

I really like freerolls. They are a great way to spend time playing poker without losing money, while still having the chance to build a bankroll. I think they’re only not worth it for players who play high stakes, because in that case they become a waste of time.

Yes, I like because I don't need to have money to play them and because I can practice what I was learning before.

Anyway, I usually just play the CC's freerolls and those special PS freerolls (when they create one).

The only problem with freerolls is that they commonly don't pay too good after a long session of tables, but if you are the type of person that plays just for fun, then they are basically the perfect way of playing poker.

This happened to me yesterday, I reached the finals of a tournament with more than 1,300 entrants. And the prize was not actually one of the biggest of my life, but the experience of dealing with chip accumulation, survival in the tournament, etc., serves as a learning experience. Yes, something was important there.

It's good to start with. As you progress, you have to assess whether the return is worth it. And the return may even be a little lower than your return in other tournaments, because you don't lose. But there comes a point where it stops making sense.

What's annoying is the beginning. Players opening by going all-in for 100BB, players with 95% VPIP. It's a slightly different game. I don't think it helps you progress to play at higher levels, as it's something specific to freerolls.

But not paying and being able to win money is always good.

When I first started playing poker, freerolls were one of the most exciting things for me. Because I was starting out and I didn't want to deposit in something I didn't know.

Over time, I noticed that some freerolls became extremely crowded and more difficult to enjoy. Even so, I think they're great for beginners and for building benches, I even crank some from time to time.

I still play a few, especially when I just want to relax without pressure.

And you?

Do you still like freerolls or have you given up on it?

I honestly like freerolls a lot, I think it's a way to generate bankrolls without investing too much. And test plays, even though you know that freerolls are an All-ins session. Lol
They’re no longer really beatable — too many players, smaller profits, and no real charm left in the games because of the bad beats you can suffer in them.

Freerolls really have their own “special genre” — it’s almost a completely different game compared to regular MTTs.
On one hand, you’re right: as a way to build a bankroll from scratch or just play with no risk, they’re one of the best options. Especially for beginners — you can get tournament experience and learn the basic dynamics without worrying about money.
But there’s another side to it, which is why many players eventually lose interest: the variance is very high, the fields are huge, and there’s a lot of “push-fold / all-in with any equity” type of play. Because of that, real skill doesn’t always show as consistently as it does in higher buy-in tournaments.
I’d put it this way: freerolls are a great training ground and sometimes a “plus-EV lottery,” but not really the kind of environment where it feels good to grind long-term for stable EV.
And yes, the idea of “sometimes just jumping in to relax” is probably the healthiest way to approach them.

I think the Same.

Unfortunately playstyles are a little bit less readable, because most likely it's Just jamming, because there ist no risk, but imo. you do not learn much by playing freerolls.

It's playing the Game for Just enjoying the Game. Earning Money cannot bei the Goal with freerolls

It's comparable to backseat gaming.
