Hey everyone !
I recently ran into a very specific player profile in a freeroll and wanted to get the community's take on the mathematical approach. With 7% vpip
This player suddenly open-shoved for 30 BB from early/middle position.
Knowing this player is an extreme "Ultra-Nit" who basically only plays the top 5% of hands, my assessment was that an open-shove for 30 BB is heavily weighted towards hands like QQ+, AK, and occasionally AQ.
I held AKo and called, dominating his AQo. But it got me thinking about the exact boundary of a profitable calling range here, especially with ICM implications in mind near or at a Final Table.
Would you snap-call AKo / AKs here every time?
Where do you draw the line? Are hands like JJ or AQs a fold against a 7.5% VPIP player jamming 30 BB direct?
Looking forward to hearing how you guys adjust against these extreme line plays!
